Craig has lifted an evacuation order put in place nearly four weeks ago. Residents were ordered to leave the Holt County community in late June as water from the Missouri and Big Tarkio rivers approached.
The river has fallen nearly three feet from its record crest of 27.26 feet on June 27. City manager Terry Eaton says with river levels holding steady, officials feel comfortable letting residents return.
Eaton says the gas company reconnected homes and businesses on Monday.
Craig was heavily sandbagged as the Missouri rose in June, and Eaton says no homes in the town of about 300 people were flooded.
Eaton says officials will continue monitoring river levels.
