(AP) Authorities in Jefferson City are seeking a man who may have jumped from a Missouri River bridge.
Police identified the man Monday as a 21-year-old resident of the capital city.
The investigation began last Thursday afternoon with a report that the man had been arguing with his girlfriend and told her he was leaving to jump from the bridge that carries U.S. 54 and 63 over the river. Police say the girlfriend drove to the bridge and saw the man on the pedestrian walkway, but couldn’t find him after parking her car.
Police say no one has heard from the man since then. The Highway Patrol’s Water Patrol division plans to resume searching the river when conditions are safe.
