St Joseph police report a lot of activity at the Broadmoor Apartments at 3601 Gene Field Road early Christmas morning.

One resident said a man tried to kick her door in, but a chain latch prevented him from getting inside.

A little over an hour later, that same resident reported hearing a shot fired.

About 20 minutes after that, residents at a different apartment reported their home had been burglarized and their apartment had been damaged by gunfire.

Police Commander Janice Rothganger says they need your help investigating the incidents.

“We do not know if all of these cases were connected or not,” Rothganger said. “If anybody has information on any or all of these cases they are urged to call the TIPS hotline at (816) 238-TIPS.”

Rothganger says no one was injured. A juvenile male, a woman in her thirties and a man in his fifties were inside the apartment when the shot was fired. There is bullet damage to the apartment.
