A broken pipe forced a brief shutdown of the Joyce Raye Patterson Senior Citizen Center in downtown St Joseph.

The center was closed shortly after 9am Wednesday. About an hour later, officials reopened the center.

Officials said the cafeteria would remain closed Wednesday. Several groups have cancelled activities for the day.
