Sunday UPDATE UTICA, Neb. (AP) — The Nebraska State Patrol says a Lincoln family of three has been killed in the crash of a small car and a semitrailer on Interstate 80 near Utica in southeastern Nebraska.
The patrol says the crash happened around 8 a.m. Saturday when the driver of the westbound car lost control, crossed the interstate median and was hit by an eastbound semi.
The patrol says the crash killed 42–year-old Ranulfo Martinez Lopez, his wife, 39-year-old Maria Fernandez, and their 6-year old daughter, Amy.
The crash closed a three-mile stretched of I-80 between Utica and Beaver Crossing. Westbound lanes were re-opened after two hours, but eastbound lanes remained closed for about five hours Saturday.

The patrol says two adults and one child in the car were killed. The patrol is not releasing their names until family members can be notified.
The crash closed a three-mile stretched of I-80 between Utica and Beaver Crossing. Westbound lanes were re-opened after two hours, but eastbound lanes remained closed at midday Saturday.
