Fire destroyed a home a 516 Monroe Street in St Joseph Wednesday afternoon.

Officials say one adult and three children living there will have to make other arrangements. The American Red Cross was called in to assist. There were no injuries.

St Joseph Fire Department Inspector Rob Blizzard says the house was destroyed.

Mr Blizzard gave a preliminary damage estimate of $35,000. An adjacent home also sustained some damage.

The cause is under investigation. The blaze was first reported at about 3:45 pm by a 13-year-old who was the only one home at the time.
