More than two thousand homes, mainly south of St Joseph, were left in the dark after severe weather blew through the area early Thursday morning.

In the Faucett area, there were roughly two hundred homes and businesses are in the dark by 6am.

Utility crews made quick work of the restoration effort. By 8am there were only scattered individual outages in St Joseph and Faucett. But about 80 customers remained in the dark farther south in KCP&L’s Missouri service area.
