A 31-year-old Stewartsville man is behind bars after a brutal fight with a woman he used to have a relationship with.
Dustin Scott Scott was charged with burglary, assault, domestic assault and felonious restraint for the incident early Sunday morning at a home on County Road 349. A judge ordered that Scott be held under $100,000 bond and remain under house arrest with tracking and alcohol monitoring.
Investigators say Scott entered through the unlocked home and woke the victim. He then allegedly dragged her out of her bed onto the floor, punched her, butted her head into his and slammed her head into the floor.
According to court documents, he then had the victim lay down on the bed with him to “talk things out.” The victim told detectives she did so because she was afraid of further harm. According to court documents, Scott passed out, and the victim was able to escape to a neighbors house.
In court documents, investigators say Mr Scott admitted he was intoxicated, and stated things happened “just things I cannot take back.”
After seeing the condition the victims was in, he allegedly uttered an expletive (“oh ****”). The deputy says once at the office, the suspect requested not to give a written statement.
Sheriff Bryan Atkins says the victim went to the hospital for treatment of an orbital fracture to her eye socket and other injuries. Atkins says it’s his understanding the victim was released.
