Northwest Missouri State women add transfer point guard

Northwest Missouri State and Gene Steinmeyer added point guard, Victoria Naylor, a transfer from Towson State on Thursday filling a hole left by the graduation of Gabby Curtis.

The Las Vegas native played at Towson State last season, but missed 17 games due to injury.  Naylor, a 5-6 guard, played one season at Garden City Community College in Kansas where she was an Academic all-America and honorable mention selection in her lone season.

“Victoria’s ability to handle and distribute the ball will free up Abby (Henry) to be more of a scorer,” said head Northwest coach, Gene Steinmeyer.  “She is very intelligent and very unselfish.  Victoria will be a great fit at Northwest.”

She was twice named conference MVP at Green Valley High School in Las Vegas also earning all-state accolades her junior and senior season.  Naylor led the state of Nevada in assists her final two seasons at Green Valley where she also ran cross country.
