Temporary pothole repairs will force some motorists to detour around a stretch of Cook Road on Monday.

City officials say Cook Road will be closed from US-169 highway to North 37th Street from 9am to 2pm, weather permitting.

Traffic will be routed north on 169 Highway to Woodbine, then south on Woodbine, back to Cook Road. The turning lanes on 169 Highway will be closed during the repairs.

The closure and detour are for one day only.

Officials also warn that there will be ongoing work occurring on the east end of Cook Road over the next several months as construction on the new elementary school proceeds. Information will be shared to keep motorists aware of traffic flow on Cook Road and when work will be occurring.
