The Missouri Western tennis team fell 8-1 against the Northwest Missouri State Bearcats on Tuesday afternoon. The Griffons fall to 0-6 overall and 0-3 in MIAA play. The Bearcats improve to 6-5 overall and 2-0 in MIAA play.

The Griffons played better against the Bearcats but got just one point which was at No. 6 singles when Alyssa Dougan defeated Mara Veasey 8-3. The Griffons won at least one set in every match except at No. 2 singles.

In doubles competition the Griffons fell in all three but scored at least four points in each set. Meara Smith and Ceara Boldridge fell 8-4 at No. 1 doubles while Denise Chiao and Lindsey Beger fell 8-4 at No. 2 doubles. Kayla Dysart and Dougan fell 8-5 at No. 3 doubles.

The Griffons return to action on Friday, March 21 when they take on East Central University in non-conference action at 1 pm in Ada, Okla.
