The Northwest Missouri State women’s tennis team picked up a home win over William Jewell, 6-3, on Tuesday in Maryville, Mo. Northwest moves to 10-10 on the year while William Jewell is now 7-7 overall.

Northwest got off to a good start in doubles, picking up a pair of points. The No. 1 team of Lorena Rivas Jarolim and Alexis Bartek and the No. 3 doubles team of Aniek Kolen and Stephanie Mannix each won their respective matches, 8-0. In singles, the Bearcats picked up four points, lead by Rivas Jarolim at No. 1singles who battled back after dropping the first set to win, 4-6, 7-6, 6-3. Bartek won at No. 2, 6-1, 6-3, and Aniek Kolen was leading 3-0 before the match was called. Stephanie Mannix won at No. 4 singles, 6-1, 6-2.

The Bearcats will play three matches this weekend, starting with an MIAA road contest at Southwest Baptist on Thursday, April 10, in Bolivar, Mo. Northwest will play Arkansas Tech on Friday followed by a match against Midwestern State on Saturday.
