Northwest Missouri State tennis teams fall to Midwestern State

The Northwest Missouri State men’s and women’s tennis programs fell to Midwestern State on Saturday in Springfield, Mo. The men fell, 6-3, while the women lost 7-0. The men are now 13-3 on the year and the women move to 10-13 overall.

The doubles team of Sergio De Vilchez and Lluis Altimires picked up an 8-6 win at No. 1 doubles. Romain Boissinot picked up a 6-1, 6-3, win at No. 2 singles and Alvaro Riveros had a 6-3, 6-4, win at No. 3 singles.

For the women, Alexis Bartek was tied 4-4 in the first set of No. 2 singles when the match was called and Aniek Kolen held a one set lead at No. 3 singles, 6-4, 0-1, as well.

The Bearcats men’s team will play UMKC on Wednesday, April 16, at 3 p.m. in Kansas City, Mo. The women’s team will host Newman University on Friday, April 18, at 3 p.m. for both program’s senior days.
