Man hospitalized after train accident

railroad trainSENECA- A northeast Kansas man is recovering from injuries  he suffered after the vehicle he was driving was hit by a Union Pacific train.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported Bruce Thomas Buessing, 42, Axtell was driving a Case 3230 farm sprayer southbound on C road just north of U36 in Nemaha County.

Buessing did not see the train, did not make a complete stop at the stop sign and was hit by the train.

Buessing was transported to the Nemaha Valley Community Hospital.

KHP reported he was not wearing a seat belt.
