TOPEKA–One person was injured in a Thursday afternoon crash in Shawnee County.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 1972 Chevy driven by Derek A. Roberts, 26, Topeka was on K-4 at U.S. 24 entering the highway from an on ramp and struck the guardrail.

The driver lost control, struck the eastbound guardrail and came to rest in the eastbound lane of traffic.

Roberts was transported to Stormont Vail for treatment.

The KHP reported he was not wearing a seat belt.
