It was standing room only at the regular Monday meeting of the St Joseph Board of Education. Perhaps it was the special recognitions, the student art work, or the final plat work for the district’s two new schools.
Or perhaps it had something to do with the stipends. The district administration has come under fire for recent disclosures of millions of dollars in stipends never approved by the board of education.
Among the other items on the agenda are possible revisions to the salary schedule, the document that is supposed to reflect personnel costs in the district. The board was also expected to consider the latest batch of stipends, and whether to approve them long after they’d been paid.
We couldn’t get near the actual boardroom. There were at least fifty people in the hall as the board began the Pledge of Allegiance.
Refresh this post for more on the revisions to the salary schedule, an item that is late in the agenda.
