TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) — A girl and a dog both abandoned when they were born have found each other and formed a special bond at their Topeka home.
Eden White, who is now 9, was found at a bus stop in China when she was 5 days old. Kathryn and Kirk White adopted her when she was 9 months old and brought her home to Topeka. Everything was fine until Eden turned 3, when she started waking up screaming in panic.
Last summer, the Whites decided to give in to Eden’s desire for a dog.
They adopted a 1-year-old brindle mix who had been found starving on a Topeka porch. They named the dog Marvin.
The Topeka Capital-Journal reports the girl and dog are inseparable and Eden’s panic attacks have subsided.
