Three hospitalized following Wednesday afternoon collision

Screen Shot 2013-05-26 at 9.27.46 AMWAYSIDE, Kan- Three people were injured in a Coffee County collision on Wednesday afternoon.

The Kansas Highway Patrol reported a 2010 Ford Flex driven by Margaret A. Combes, 52, Burlington was eastbound on Kansas 58 just west of Wayside. The vehicle was turning into a private driveway.

The driver didn’t see a 1995 Chevy 1500 traveling westbound. The Chevy driven by Austin L. Green, 17, Colony, was unable to avoid a collision with the Ford.

Combes was transported to Coffey County Hospital.

One passenger in the Chevy Brock J. Ellis, 18, Colony was transported to Allen County Hospital.

The other passenger in the Chevy Kyle D. Hammond, 19, Colony, was transported to a hospital by private vehicle. Green was not injured.

The KHP reported the occupants of the Chevy were not wearing seat belts.
