The National Weather Service confirms that an EF-3 tornado touched down in Nemaha County, Kansas Tuesday night, causing widespread damage.

At least five homes were destroyed in the town of Bern, Kansas. There have been no reports of injuries.

Another twister, rated at EF-1, caused damage in Brown County, knocking down dozens of power poles and blowing over a coal train.
