Fugitive Arrested After Chase, Gunfire

Jeremy OronaA fugitive wanted across northern Missouri was arrested over the weekend after a vehicle pursuit with shots fired.

Livingston County Sheriff Steve Cox last week announced the search for Jeremy Orona, 28, of Chula, Missouri, wanted on several warrants.

 

Orona was pursued by state troopers in and around Macon and Linn counties. Sheriff Cox says Orona was driving a stolen vehicle which became stuck in a field.

Officials say Orona fled on foot. An extensive manhunt followed that included an air patrol and road blocks. cox says there was gun fire involved and that Orona was the only person injured.

Orona faces numerous possible charges in several counties. Prior to the weekend pursuit, the crimes suspected included burglary, stealing, motor vehicle thefts, weapons violation, forgeries, fraudulent use of credit device, and potential other crimes. Potential counties involved may include Livingston, Grundy, Daviess, Buchanan, Clay, Jackson, Linn, Macon and possibly more.
