“Meet the Bearcats” set for Thursday

With fall camp coming to a close, the Northwest Missouri State University football team will be holding its final scrimmage, Thursday, Aug. 25, at Bearcat Stadium. The event is free and open to the public.

Posters, schedule cards and other Bearcat items will be available for fans as they can meet the 2011 Bearcat players and coaches on the turf of Mel Tjeerdsma field for pictures and autographs starting at 5:15 p.m. The scrimmage begins at 6 p.m.

The Bearcats will go through a 90-minute intrasquad scrimmage to close out two-a-days. Fans in attendance also will get the first look at the new Adidas uniforms the Bearcat squad will don for the 2011 season.

The Bearcats, ranked in the top five in the nation, kick-off their season at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 1 at Truman in the season opener for both teams.
