Temperatures will undergo large swings over the next few days as a series of fronts move through the area. Despite some passing rain showers and an isolated thunderstorm, Saturday and Sunday should bring some nice temperatures before a more prolonged period of below-normal temperatures early to mid-next week. Dense fog will be possible across the area this morning occasionally reducing visibility to 1/4 mile or less. Caution should be used when driving. Foggy conditions should improve by 9 a.m. The rest of the day, expect cloudy conditions with occasional drizzle and the slight chance for light rain. Highs today will be cooler in the upper 50s across northern Missouri and northeastern Kansas where a cold front will move through earlier in the day. Temperatures are expected to be all over the place over the next week. Today will remain below normal but will be significantly warmer than yesterday with highs in the 50s. Temperatures will continue to warm on Thursday with highs in the upper 50s north to near 70 south. A cold front will move through on the day Thursday making for another cooler than normal day on Friday with showers possible later in the day and evening. Temperatures will then warm again through the weekend with highs reaching the upper 60s to upper 70s by Sunday. That’s 15 to 20 degrees above normal! There could be a few light showers around early this morning however beyond that conditions should remain dry until Friday/Friday night. Temperatures today will be in the upper 40s and lower 50s however, it looks like the coldest day of the week will arrive just in time for the trick-or-treaters with highs in the low to mid 40s for Halloween.
