Chance of rain and storms through Friday morning

Severe thunderstorms will be possible tonight with the best chance for severe weather occurring across northern Missouri. Morning thunderstorms will be possible across the area but these should not be severe. The morning storms should keep the area cloudy enough to keep thunderstorms from developing this afternoon. However, if skies clear out this afternoon there will be the chance for a few severe storms capable of large hail and damaging winds and even an isolated tornado across northern Missouri. The main round of storms looks to affect the area tonight into the overnight as a line of storms are expected to drop south out of Iowa into northern Missouri and eastern Kansas. Mostly sunny today and chance of rain overnight

Dry weather today will give way to a long stretch of unsettled weather starting early Wednesday morning. Several rounds of showers and storms are expected through Friday, with severe storms possible both Wednesday afternoon and again on Thursday. In addition, heavy rain will also be a concern, especially across far northern Missouri. Cooler temps in the 70s and 80s this weekend

Morning showers and isolated storms will give way to dry conditions this afternoon as highs climb into the upper 70s to lower 80s. After a warm day today with highs in the upper 80s to lower 90s, there will be the chance for a few strong storms tonight. Possible severe storms over the weekend

Several rounds of storms are in store over the next few days as an active weather pattern continues over the Central U.S. Strong to severe storms will be possible this evening and overnight, with another round of severe storms possible by Saturday afternoon. Hot and humid conditions will also prevail today and tomorrow with heat index values possibly reaching 110 degrees Saturday afternoon.
