Norman Lee Gillis, 87, Rushville, Missouri died Sunday, August 4, 2013 at a health care facility in Easton, Kansas.
He was born February 21, 1926 to Carroll and Hannah (Arrasmith) Gillis in Rushville, Missouri.
He proudly served in the United States Navy and was a veteran of World War II. He was also a Barber in Rushville, Missouri.
He enjoyed gardening, mushroom hunting, loved his grandchildren, and thoroughly enjoyed the loafers at the barbarshop.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandchild; one great-grandchild; son, Brad Gillis; six brothers; and one sister.
Survivors: daughter, Bobbie Smith (Kenneth), Rushville, Missouri; sons, Bruce Gillis, Rushville, Missouri, and Tomm Gillis (Thea), Dekalb, Missouri; nine grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews..

She was a housewife who loved her children very much. She was involved with the Scouts, ROTC, and numerous other activities with the children.

Tony Ray Knapp Sr

Tony Ray Knapp Sr. 54, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013 at his home.

He was born October 16, 1958 in Fort Leavenworth, KS, son of Shirley and Frank Knapp. He worked in the tire retreading business. He enjoyed working on cars, enjoyed his dog Jack, spending time with his family.

Tony was preceded in death by his parents.

Survivors include his companion, Dianna Serrano of Home, daughter, Shirley Mae Knapp of Maysville, MO, son, Tony R. Knapp Jr. of St. Joseph, MO, four grandchildren, one great nephew, 3 brothers, Bernie, Mike and Donald Knapp of St. Joseph, MO, and a sister, Judy Jenkins of St. Joseph, MO.

Betty Ann (McCampbell) Martin , St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013 at Heartland Hospital, St Joseph.

She was born February 10, 1935 at home near Stanberry Missouri to Elwood E. and Esther E. (Powers) McCampbell. She attended Stanberry and Ravenwood schools, graduating from Horace Mann High School, Maryville, Missouri. She married George M. Martin June 15 1953 by Rev. L. B. Day in Maryville.

Preceding her in death were her husband George, her parents and grandparents.

She is survived by her children: Marsha Lynn (Stephen) Albus, Michael Lee Martin, Cathy Ann Noble, Carla Jean (Bill) Sollars, Curtis Alan Martin and Robin Renee Martin all of St Joseph; 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; sisters Rosemary Wells, St Joseph, Marilyn J. (Dale) Shamberger, Barnard, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.

Betty Ann had worked as a waitress and housekeeper at Heartland Hospital and as a caregiver.

Services will be at Price Funeral Home, Maryville on August 8th at 2:00 PM with burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville.

She graduated from King City High School and Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science. She married Bruce Pierce in November of 1973 and they would have been married 40 years this year. She was a Registered Nurse, working as a Psychiatric nurse at the St. Joseph State Hospital, Missouri Methodist Medical Center, the Atchison Hospital. She loved to read mostly mysteries, romance novels and Harry Potter books, she enjoyed needle point and cross-stitch, and watching crimes movies and shows. She was a born caretaker. and a member of the Baptist faith. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include, husband, Bruce Pierce of the home, two sons, Bruce Fetters and wife Kelley of Faucett, MO, and Donald Fetters of St. Joseph, a daughter, Kathleen Fetters-Iossi and husband Todd of West Bend, WI, grandchildren, Morgan, Joshua, Alyson Kenny, Reagan, and Riley, 8 sisters and brothers: Nina Miller of St. Joseph, MO, Donald Meadows of Cameron, June Craven of Olathe, KS, Eddie Meadows of St. Joseph, MO, Curtis Meadows of Austin, AR, Betty Barnes of St. Joseph, MO, Bill Meadows of St. Louis, MO, and Darrel Meadows of St. Joseph, MO.

Joyce A. Wohlford, 59 of Maryville, Missouri died on Friday, August 2, 2013, at St. Francis Hospital in Maryville.

Joyce was born June 18, 1954 in Lincoln, Nebraska, daughter of Edward V. and Berniece E.( Laughlin) Wohlford.

She was a 1972 graduate Maryville High School and attended Northwest Missouri State University.

Joyce was a United States Navy Veteran, and a member of the Tri-C American Legion Post #464, Conception, Missouri.

Joyce was preceded in death by her parents and one brother James.

Her survivors include two brothers, Jerry (Penny) Wohlford, Parks City, Utah, Ed (Peggy) Wohlford, Jr., Maryville, nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 10:00 AM,Tuesday, August 6, 2013, Price Funeral Home where visitation will be held Monday evening August 5, from 6-8 PM. Burial: Nodaway Memorial Gardens, Maryville.

George was preceded in death by wife, Wilma M. Eslinger, 2 sons, George Jr., and David Eslinger, 3 brothers, Harvey, John, and Harrison Eslinger, 2 sisters, Ruth Thatcher and Mary Cluster, his parents and a grandson Rudy Rivera.

Survivors include, 3 sons, Roger Eslinger of Albany, MO, Larry (Carol) Eslinger, and Rick (Barb) Eslinger of St. Joseph, MO, 5 daughters, Linda (Delbert) Sears of Sterling, CO, Kathy Endsley and companion Fred Meyer, Joann French, Patricia Rivera and Virginia Johnson all of St. Joseph, MO, a sister, Permillia Fletchall of Grant City, MO, and 18, grandchildren, 32, great grandchildren, and 11, great great grandchildren.
