He was born October 31, 1935 to Ross and Helene Mongold in Maryville, Missouri.
Dick married Charlotte Davis on August 2, 1969. She survives of the home.
He was a member of the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary and enjoyed outdoor activities.
Dick was preceded in death by his parents; step-parents; son, Mike Mongold; and sister, Madeleine Gillis.

Abigail “Abbi” Jade Gibson, newborn, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, March 8, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was the daughter of Larinzo Gibson and Gabrielle Ross, St. Joseph, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her paternal great grandma, Mabel “Bubbles” Evans; paternal great uncle, Michael Jewett; and paternal great aunt, Andrea Jewett.
Survivors: parents; maternal grandparents, Regina Jewett, Andrew Ross, and Morgan Reynolds; paternal grandparents, Lola and Lester Gibson; maternal great-grandparents, Diane “Nannie” and Guy Jewett, Rebecca Rivers, and Steve Ross; paternal great-grandma, Janice Barnes; and several uncles and aunts.

Kenneth Lee “Ken” Marshall, 73, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away on March 7, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center after a short illness. Ken was the son of Howard and Virginia (Asher) Marshall. He graduated from Gallatin High School and then went on to receive his degree from Culver-Stockton College, as well as serving in the Missouri Army National Guard. Ken worked in insurance for a number of years before retiring as Vice President of Underwriting at Cameron Mutual Insurance. He was active in many civic affairs, including his work with the Vincil Lodge No. 62 A.F. & A.M., Moila Temple, Omega Shrine Club, and the Omega SandKats. Ken shared his life-long passion for music by directing choirs and entertaining his family and friends. In 2002, he married the love of his life, Janet Welch. Together they were active members of the Francis Street First United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors: wife, Janet, of the home; son, Rick Marshall (Laurie), Springdale, Arkansas; daughter, Debbie Parnacott, Lawson, Missouri; brother, Howard Marshall (Martha), Chillicothe, Missouri; two grandsons; one granddaughter; one great-grandson; one great-granddaughter; two step-granddaughters; and one step-great-granddaughter. Mrs. Taylor owned and operated Taylor Alinement Service with her husband retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church. Mrs. Taylor was preceded in death by her brother, John W. Joe married Betty Waterman on September 14, 1947. She survives of the home.
He was a member of First Christian Church of Plattsburg, Missouri and Farm Bureau.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents; four brothers; three sisters; and one grandchild.

Nina Lee Powell, 68, Cameron, Missouri died Wednesday, March 7, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center after a brief battle with cancer.
She was born April 19, 1944 to Dudley W. and Gertrude M. (La Flam) Cavey in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Nina married Charles Edward “Ed” Powell on June 11, 1966. He survives of the home.
Nina graduated from Central High School in St. Joseph, Missouri, St. Joseph Junior College, and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg. She taught Kindergarten for twenty-eight years, with twenty-five of those years at Parkview Elementary School in Cameron, Missouri. She also taught in Lenox, Iowa and Weston, Missouri. Following her retirement from teaching, Nina worked at JB-LB Insurance for thirteen years.
Nina delighted in spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of the Missouri State Teachers Association and the secretary of the Community of Christ church.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Her survivors are her husband; daughter, Jennifer Krause (Matt) of Jefferson City; son, Mark Powell of New York City; and grandchildren, Ted and Mae Krause.
Nina wished to share thanks for the friendship of all those who knew and cared about her.
Visitation will be at the Community of Christ Church on Tuesday, March 12 from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. No funeral service is planned. Bobby L. DeSpain, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri went home to be with the Lord Monday, March 4, 2013 at his home.
He was born September 17, 1934 to Lewis and Delsie (Larrison) DeSpain.
Bobby married Diane K. Ridgeway on April 7, 1961.
Mr. DeSpain served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked for Mead for 37 years. He was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church where he was an usher, taught Sunday school and was a greeter for over 30 years. He loved his church and was very active with it. Bobby was also a member of the Pony Express Post #359, American Legion, and VFW Post in Kansas City, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, William E. DeSpain; sisters, Louise Stephens and Margaret Hockaday; infant daughter, Tammy DeSpain; and grandson, Tyson Mejia.

Jerry Edward Ford, 91, Easton, Missouri died Sunday, March 3, 2013 at a local healthcare center in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was born January 28, 1922 in Cosby, Missouri, the son of Oscar Edward Ford and Faye Johnson Ford. He moved to the San Antonio Missouri community at an early age.
Mr. Ford owned and operated a Grade A dairy farm for twenty-eight years. He then changed to beef and grain farming. His interests always centered around family, rural life and farming.
He was a graduate of Central High School, Class of 1940. He attended Johnson’s Business School in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Jerry was a veteran of the United States Army, serving during World War II and stationed in Japan.
On April 6, 1950 he married Dorthy E. Buehler at First Christian Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. They celebrated sixty-two years of marriage.
Jerry was a member of the former San Antonio Christian Church and later attended Central Christian Church in St. Joseph, Missouri. He was a member of St. Joseph Lodge #78 A.F. & A.M., 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of Moila Shrine.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In addition to his wife, Dorthy, of the home, he is survived by a daughter, Deborah Ford Schwader and husband, Kevin, of St. Joseph, Missouri; two grandsons, Grant Ford Schwader and Tyler Jacob Schwader. She was born August 4, 1927 to Lawrence C. Doring and Lillian A. (Bucher) Grable.
Frances married Jack E. Collier on September 1, 1949. He preceded her in death on April 15, 1952. She later married Virgil L. “Doc” Haynes on May 20, 1977.
Mrs. Haynes graduated from the Convent of Sacred Heart in 1945 and was employed by Southwestern Bell for 37 years. She was also a member of the Telephone Pioneers and past treasurer and vice-president of the St. Joseph Cathedral Altar Society.
Fran was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She loved family celebrations, holidays, reading, growing roses, needlework, playing cards, and her pets. She was always very stylish, gracious, and lately she enjoyed Turner Classic movies.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Jack; parents; granddaughter, Beth Curry; and sisters, Anna Marie Boyles and Pauline Doring.

Earlier in life she was an excellent tennis player and equestrian and enjoyed her flower gardens. Ellen was a very caring lady who took pride in taking care of her mother in her later years. Mrs. Smith was of the Christian Faith.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.

He was a licensed grain dealer, worked for Dugdale Packing Company, and also farmed. Don was a member of 1st Baptist Church in Savannah, Missouri, loved driving his Peterbilt semis and Harley Davidson motorcycles.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jack R., Dean R., and O’Neil Fergison; and sister, Darlene Malarkey.

Louis E. Kiger, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, February 25, 2013 at home.
Lou was born September 3, 1923 in Rahway, New Jersey to Louis H. and Martha (Kollach) Kiger. He served in the 75th Division, 291st Infantry in the European Theater in World War II. He was severely wounded in the Battle of the Bulge. After recovering from his wounds, he returned to New Jersey to pursue his education through the G.I. Bill. He received both his Bachelors and Master’s Degree in literature from Rutgers University.
Lou taught English at John Sweatt High School in Crockett, California for four years, was an English professor at the California Maritime Academy in Vallejo, California for eleven years, and a union representative/labor negotiator for the California State Employees Association for seventeen years.
Lou loved Jesus Christ and was a lifelong Presbyterian. He was an ordained Elder and was actively involved at Community Presbyterian Church, Vallejo, California; First Presbyterian Church, Santa Ana, California; and First Presbyterian Church, St. Joseph, Missouri. Lou enjoyed his family and many friends, running, traveling, and acting in community theater. What we will remember most about Lou (Dad-Grandpa) was his love and support, and his extraordinary sense of humor and wit.
Lou was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charles Kiger. He married Dorothy Adams in 1951. They divorced in the 1980’s. He leaves behind two daughters, Marta Morrison, Santa Ana, California, and Krista Kiger, St. Joseph, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cameron Villegas (Sergio), Santa Ana, California, Taylor Morrison, Santa Ana California, and Sidney Kiger, St. Joseph, Missouri; brother, George Kiger, Vallejo, California; niece, Dottie Richards, and the six Kiger nephews: Bob, Jim, Rick, Bill, Charlie, and Ron, and many extended family and friends.
A Memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 2 at 1:00 P.M. at First Presbyterian Church with a reception following the service. Burial will be at a later date in Vallejo, California. In lieu of flowers, the Family suggests memorial gifts to New Hope Missionary Baptist Church Capital Building Fund, First Presbyterian Church Local Mission Fund, or Hands of Hope Hospice.
