Anahed Mary (Annigian) McAndrews 93, of St. Joseph, passed away on May 24, 2019.

She was born on May 17, 1926 to George and Mary Annigian. Anahed was a book keeper and salesperson for several downtown clothing stores. She was also a seamstress before retiring in 1981. She married Robert McAndrews on November 9, 1981. He preceded her in death in 2011. Anahed was a member of the former King Hill Methodist, and more recently King Hill Christian.

She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Virginia Hager.

Survivors include: stepchildren, Connie (Bill) Jones, Texas; Richard (Dona) McAndrews, St. Joseph; Mimi (Jerry) Sotelo, Florida; Ronnie (Megan) McAndrews, St. Joseph: 11 grandchildren, America, Angela, Justin, Erin, Katie, Chase, Summer, Mitchell, Brittany, Alyssa, and Mallory: 11 great grandchildren, and several nephews and niece.

The family will receive friends from 9-10 on Friday, May 31 at Rupp Funeral Home. Funeral will be at 10 on Friday. Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Joseph, MO.

Mary A. DeVany 94, of St. Joseph, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019 at a local health care facility.

She was born December 14, 1924 in St. Joseph, daughter of Refugio & Juan Torres. She attended Central High School. Mary worked at Westab & Stetson Hats. She enjoyed volunteering at the hospital, crocheting and cooking. Her first and greatest love was her family.

Mary was preceded in death by her father, Juan Torres, mother, Refugio Torres, former husband, Charles DeVany, siblings, Jose Torres, Sr., John Torres, Jr., Jessie Torres, Guadalupe Torres, Grace Torres, and Alice Cruz, and son in law, Jim Long.

She is survived by children, Ruth Ann Long of Kansas City, MO, daughter, Linda (Everett L.) Wheeler of Faucett, MO, grandchildren, Gary Wheeler, Everett Dean (Shawna) Wheeler, Dan (Penny) Wheeler, Stacy Miller, Leslie (Marlon) Toledo, and several great grandchildren.

Mary will be cremated under the direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Rupp Funeral Home with Inurnment following in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Pastor Rodney Krumme officiating. Memorials are requested to Inter-Serv.

Paul William Moore 55, of passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019.

He was born June 7, 1963 in Fort Atkinson, Wisconsin, son of the late Virginia & Willard Moore. He served in the United States Army.

He is survived by daughter, Crystal Moore, Maryville, MO, step daughter, Jessica Miller, Savannah, MO, his friend and caretaker, Ashley White, Maryville, MO, brother, Peter Moore, and sister, Mary Guengher both of Wisconsin.

Mr. Moore will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Graveside Inurnment Service and Military Honors will be conducted at a later date at the Leavenworth National Cemetery.

James Richard Tiller 65, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 in a Saint Joseph, MO hospital.

He was born November 8, 1953 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Della and Glenn Tiller. He graduated from Benton High School, and married Margaret Colegrove, she passed away February 2, 2017. He worked at Altec in the shipping and receiving department. James enjoyed bowling, fishing, hunting, watching baseball, and collecting old cars.

He was preceded in death by wife, Margaret Kathryn Tiller, and his parents.

Survivors include: two brothers, Mike (Becky) Tiller, Kansas City, MO, and Glen Tiller, St. Joseph, MO, niece, Tiffany Tiller, nephew, Brandon Tiller, and great niece, Audrey Brennan.

Graveside Funeral Services and Interment will be conducted on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at 1:00 pm at the Edmond Cemetery, Edmond, Kansas.  The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.

Anna Marie (Igoe) Foster, 102, St. Joseph, MO, formerly of San Diego, CA, died Friday, May 24, at her home with her great-granddaughter, Brittany Foster, by her side.

Born in St. Joseph, May 27, 1916, she was the daughter of William Thomas and Anna Marie (Roesle) Igoe, Sr., who preceded her in death.

A devout Catholic, Anna Marie was a graduate of St. Mary’s Grade School; the Convent of the Sacred Heart, Class of 1935; and attended St. Joseph Junior College, where she majored in Elementary Education.  In 1936, she married Raymond Dale Foster at the Cathedral of St. Joseph, with Bishop Charles F. Buddy as celebrant, and relocated to San Diego.  Returning to St. Joseph during World War II, Anna Marie worked as a Supervisor of Operators at Southwestern Bell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Foster (1986); her sons, Charles F. Foster (2006) and MIchael J. Foster (2013); her brother, William Thomas Igoe, Jr., (1952), and her sister, Peggy McMurray (1996).

Anna Marie will be greatly missed for her Irish wit, keen memory, and the stories she shared of her life experiences.  She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish and a former member of St. Therese Parish, San Diego.

She is survived by her son, Stephen Ronald (Nancy) Foster, and family of Lake Stevens, WA; nephew, Bill (Judy) McMurray; nieces, Meg McMurray (Mark Weber) and Diana (Igoe) Whitmore, all of St. Joseph; and her grandson, Raymond D. (Sue) Foster, and family who cared for her since her return to St. Joseph in 2017.

Anna Marie is also survived by numerous grandchildren,  great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and many cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to the Cathedral Food Pantry, 519 North 10th Street, St. Joseph, MO  64501.

Visitation will be at 12:00 noon, Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at Horigan Chapel in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, with a Memorial Mass at 1:00 p.m.  Inurnment will follow the Mass.

Phyllis Jeanne Hall 82, of Saint Joseph, Missouri passed away Monday, May 20, 2019 in Saint Joseph.

She was born August 5, 1936 in Clinton, Iowa, daughter of the late Faye & Roy Sinksen. She graduated from Clinton Iowa High School. Phyllis married the love of her life, Scott Hall, in June of 1955, and together they devoted their lives to Ministry. Phyllis spent her adult life as the ‘first lady’ in many churches across Iowa: Belle Plaine, Newton, Altoona, Eagle Grove, and Holstein, and she worked tirelessly to support United Methodist causes. In 1996 they retired to Saint Joseph, and found the perfect home with a stream and active wildlife in the backyard. She loved animals, gardening and celebrating all holidays, especially Christmas. She traveled to Europe multiple times, researching family genealogy, and she loved traveling Scotland and England.

Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents, and a sister in law, Nancy Suydam.

She is survived by husband, Scott C. Hall, of the home, and daughter, Virginia “Ginger” Hall of Aurora, IL. Memorial Services will be held at Francis Street United Methodist Church on May 28 at 11:00. She will be cremated under the care and direction of the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Alzheimer’s Association.

Michael Ray Bonnett 67, of Stewartsville, Missouri, passed away Thursday, May 23, 2019 unexpectedly at a Lebanon, MO. hospital.

He was born April 10, 1952 in St. Joseph, MO, son of the late Patricia and Leonard Bonnett. He attended Benton High School and married Rhonda Frisbie. He retired from Boehringer Ingelheim as a Vet Tech after 40 years of service. He was also the founder of Bonnett Trailer Sales, Stewartsville, MO in 1991. He enjoyed horses, pull wagons, chuck wagons, and stage coaches. He loved attending horses sales and many auctions, Mike also enjoyed attending and participating with his chuck wagon at the Chuck Wagons for Warriors charity in Lebonon, MO. He attended King Hill Christian Church.

Mike was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Billy, Ronnie, Rick, and Mark Bonnett.

Survivors include, wife, Rhonda Bonnett of the home, son, Heath (Tina) Bonnett, Hemple, MO, daughter, Meghan (Mike) Stufflebean, Amity, MO, granddaughters, Jenna (Shelby) Hughes, Oregon, MO, Ashtin (Jacob) Amos, Amity, Kendlle Kennedy, St. Charles, MO, and Rylee Yarnell, Hemple, great grandchildren, Hudson & Jory, mother in law, Bessie Frisbie, St. Joseph, MO, cousin and friend Skip (Amy) Crisp, as well as many nieces and nephews, and his dogs, Precious, Zoey, and Gia.

Margaret A. (McCush) Roberts, 77, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.

She was born October 26, 1941 in Savannah, Missouri.  Margaret married Roland A. Roberts August 26, 1961. He preceded her in death January 24, 2015.  She was a member of OLD Hen’s Club and PTA.  Margaret enjoyed spending time with family, shopping, loved to dress up and had a fantastic fashion sense. She loved to sing and was very well organized.

She was also preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Leola (Beagle) McCush; brothers, Bill and Jack McCush.
Survivors include daughters, Gina Roberts, St. Joseph, Missouri and Renee Barber (Larry), St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Regina Newman, Scott Wright (Jessica), Shannon (Maggie) Wright, Michael Newman; 4 great-grandchildren; sister, Marilyn Kinney.

Hazel I. Whorton, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Union Star, Missouri passed away Friday, May 24, 2019.

She was born January 11, 1925 in Union Star, Missouri.  Hazel married Jay Whorton June 9, 1946. He survives of the home.  She was a member of Central Christian Church, Union Star Feministic Club and 4-H Leader. Hazel worked for Nelly Don during World War II, Methodist Hospital and the State of Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Galen and Maxine (Moore) Ebersold; and brothers, Kenton and Dale Ebersold; sister, Barbara Romanzak; grandson, Tony Fawl; great-grandson, Hunter Fawl; great-granddaughters, Hope Townsend and Faith Stoll.

Additional survivors include children, Lennis Courtney (Dean), Topeka, Kansas, Greg Whorton (Vonya), Union Star, Missouri, Dennis Whorton (Cris), Kansas City, Kansas, Joan Irwin (Beck), Union Star, Missouri, Max Whorton (Tami), LaBelle, Florida, Mitch Whorton (Rhonda), Union Star, Missouri; 20 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren; brother, Stanley Ebersold (Ruth Ann), Trenton, Missouri; sister-in-law, Betty Ebersold, Union Star, Missouri; numerous nieces and nephews.

Donald Leroy Cole, 86, of Holton, died Thursday, May 23, 2019 at his home.

He was born August 16, 1932 at Oberlin, KS, the son of Jewett and Bernice Eccord Cole.

Don was a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He had worked in management for Farmland Industries, Inc. for thirty-two years.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Holton, the American Legion and the Elks Club at Eureka Springs, Arkansas, the Jaycee’s in McPherson and Coffeyville, the Kiwanis Club in Council Grove, and was a member and past president of the Interstate Fair and Rodeo at Coffeyville.

Don married Phyllis Boyd on February 17, 1956 at McPherson. She survives, of the home.

He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and two sisters.

Other survivors include a son, Ken Cole (Kathy), Magnolia, AR, a daughter, Kathy Cole-Larrison, Holton, two sisters, Dixie Westerman, Eureka Springs, AR and Joy Cole, Denver, CO, five grandchildren, Megan Jackson (Jason), Andrew Cole, Holli Dieckmann, Shelli Burdiek (Ryan), and Daniel Larrison, and thirteen great grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life for Don will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, June 1st at the First United Methodist Church in Holton.
