Dorothy Ola “Dot” (Hundley) Wilburn, 95, Atchison KS passed away on Wednesday, Feb 13, 2019 at the Atchison Medicalodge.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 am on Tuesday, Feb. 19th, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Church, Atchison with Fr. Jeremy Heppler, OSB as Celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Patrick’s Cemetery . A parish rosary will be recited at 6:30 pm on Monday, Feb. 18th, 2019 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with visitation to follow until 8:00 pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Trinity Place Endowment Fund or the Joel Wilburn Memorial Scholarship Fund and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Dorothy was born on Sept. 19, 1923 in Atchison KS the daughter of Henry Bryant and Ruby Myrtle (Tull) Hundley. Dorothy and Earl J. Wilburn were united in marriage on Nov. 13, 1944 in Leavenworth, KS. Mr. Wilburn preceded her in death on Jan. 22, 1995. In her younger years, Dorothy worked at Wilson’s and also as a housekeeper and child care provider for some families in and around Atchison. In her later year, she worked in the cafeteria at Mount St. Scholastica. As a member of the St. Joseph’s parish and later a member of St. Patrick’s parish, Dorothy was very active. She had served as President and other officer positions in the Altar Society. She was always involved in the annual chicken dinners the parishes held. Dorothy coordinated dances held at St. Patrick’s through the 1970’s and 1980’s. She also wrote articles for the Curlew Section of the Atchison Daily Globe. Dorothy loved to sew and to cook and she very much enjoyed watching “her” soap operas. However, her greatest love was being a housewife and mother.
Dorothy is survived by her three children: daughter Diana (Delbert) Boartright, sons Gregory Wilburn and Joseph “Jody” (Pam) Wilburn, all of Atchison. A sister Bettie Jean Miner, Atchison and a brother Harold (Susan) Hundley, St. Joseph, MO, Grandsons Barry (Dawn) White, Port Orchard, WA, Raymond White, and Leland (Colleen) Spencer, both of Topeka, KS, Brett (Audra) Wilburn, Portsmouth, VA, Eric Wilburn, Everett WA, and Jared Wilburn, Atchison, KS, a granddaughter Shanda Wilburn, Atchison, KS, eight great grand children, and eight great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, four brothers: Earl, Jim, Henry B., Jr, and Charles Hundley, and two sisters, Ruby Cox, and Delia A. Burge, and one grandson, Joel Wilburn and three granddaughters Alisha Diane Wilburn, Marcia Kay White, and Kimberly Spencer Roney.
Kirby Charles Robidoux, Jr.
1975 – 2019
Kirby Charles Robidoux, Jr. “Mechewah”, 43, of Falls City, Nebraska, died unexpectedly Wednesday, February 13, 2019, of natural causes while on patrol for the Sac & Fox Police Department.
A Celebration of Kirby’s life is planned for 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 20, 2019, at Pritchard Auditorium, Falls City, with Pastor Rich Lehmkuhl officiating. Interment will follow at Steele Cemetery, Falls City.
Friends may call at the Auditorium after 12 noon Tuesday where the family will meet from 6 until 8 that evening.

Kirby was born in Anaheim, California, July 18, 1975, born to Kirby Charles Sr. and Susanne Ovalle Robidoux. Kirby grew up in El Dorado Hills, California where he attended school, moving to Kansas at age 18. He worked at various jobs before becoming interested in law enforcement. At age 21, he attended and graduated the first of three law enforcement academies: Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center, Nebraska Law Enforcement Training Center, and the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center with the Bureau of Indian Affairs. His early years with law enforcement were spent with Sac & Fox Tribal Police prior to working for Phillips County, KS Sheriff Department as a deputy. He returned to Sac & Fox to serve as the chief of the Tribal Police before moving to Oklahoma to serve as lieutenant for the BIA. Kirby returned to area in 2015 and was currently serving as a deputy for the Richardson County Sheriff, working part-time for Sac & Fox Tribal Police Department.
Kirby was currently serving on the City Council at Falls City. He was also a tribal member of Sac & Fox and had served on the Tribal Council.
Kirby was married to Sondra Davis, August 9, 2008 at Reno, Nevada. They made their home in Falls City all their married life. She survives of the home.
Also surviving are two daughters Ashlee Kopf (Cody) of Humboldt, NE, Nova Smith of Falls City; his mother Susanne Shearer of Sacramento, CA; a brother Jesse Robidoux (Regina) of San Diego, CA, two sisters: Brigette Robidoux of Hiawatha, and Amber Robidoux of Lodi, CA, with several nieces and nephews.
Kirby was preceded in death by his father.
Dorothy Maxine Underwood (Shell)
1925 – 2019
Dorothy Maxine Underwood, 93, of Atchison, KS died on Friday, February 15, 2019 at the Atchison Medicalodge.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, Feb. 19th, 2019 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home with Rev. Matt Broxterman officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Dorothy was born on April 15, 1925 in Effingham, KS the daughter of Clyde and Daisy (Hitchner) Shell. She graduated from Atchison County Community High School in 1943. Dorothy was a cook for the American Legion and Lenora’s Café before working as a bus driver for over 14 years for USD # 409. She was a member of the First Christian Church, the American Legion Auxiliary and the VFW Auxiliary, a member of the Kansas Retired School Personnel and enjoyed bowling, dancing, gardening and going to the casino. She especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She was married to Clyde Underwood on April 27, 1946. Mr. Underwood preceded her in death on March 15, 2005. Survivors include three sons, James (Mechelle) Underwood, Michael Underwood, and John (Mario) Underwood, all of Atchison, and two daughters, Linda Underwood, and Barbara (Rodney) Griffin, both of Atchison, KS, a daughter in-law, Melinda Underwood, Atchison, twelve grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. Her parents, husband, a son Richard Underwood, three brothers, Chet, Merle, and Roland Shell, and one sister, Laura Leonard, and a grandson, Kurtis Griffin preceded her in death.
Clint Justin Willman
1983 – 2019
Clint J. Willman, 35, St. Joseph, Missouri, formerly of Omaha, Nebraska, passed away Wednesday, February 13, 2019, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph.
He was born November 4, 1983, to Sharon Lynn (Bottorff) Lawrence and Alvin Leonard Willman in Mesa, Arizona.
Clint graduated from Central High School and attended Missouri Western State University, where he wrote for the university newspaper in “Clint’s Corner.” He later owned and operated Pac-Man Moving and volunteered for the Siena/Francis House Homeless Shelter, both in Omaha, Nebraska.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Gerald and Geneva Bottorff; uncle, Mike Bottorff; and cousin, Gina.
Survivors include his mother.

Phyllis East, 68, of Saint Joseph, passed away Friday, February 15, 2019 at University of Kansas Medical Center, Kansas City, KS. She was born July 15, 1950 in St. Joseph, MO, daughter of Margaret and Aaron Baublit. She graduated from DeKalb High School, class of 1968. She married Brian East on June 22, 1990. She enjoyed crafts and loved spending time with her grandbaby’s and great-grandbaby’s. She was a member of St. James Catholic Church. Phyllis was preceded in death by husband, Leonard Brian East, father, Aaron Baublit, Sr., mother, Margaret Baublit, grandson, Johnathan Van Wicklin, and brother, Aaron Baublit, Jr. Survivors include, daughter, Brandy Scantland of New Madison, OH, son, Travis (Angie Boatright) Van Wicklin of St. Joseph, daughter, Kristi (Justin) Gardner of Saint Joseph, son, Brian “BJ” (Jennifer Sancomb) East of Rome, NY, son, Michael (Amanda) East of Rome, NY, grandchildren, John Michael Van Wicklin, Emily Craiger, Dyllan Van Wicklin, Rachel Gardner, Gaven Herring, Andrew Gardner, Quest Scantland, Jaylen Baker, Hunter Frasher, Maddie Baker, Brody Frasher, Kaden Bales, Little B East, Mariah East, Kayleigh East, and Branden East, sisters, Dianna Baublit, Lavita Baublit, and Jenny Shaffer, her sister cousins, Brenda, Annie, Sandy, niece, Angel Noland, nephew, Georgie Judd, numerous other nieces, nephews, and cousins. Martha was born on Jan. 15, 1947 in Atchison KS the first born of seven children to Albert V. and Freda M. (Oxley) Kelley. She attended DeKalb High School and St. Joseph Beauty College. She grew up in the Atchison area and moved to Kansas City where she spent most of her life. Martha worked for the Fowler Envelope Company as a developer for over 30 years. She returned to Atchison in 2003 to be closer to family and enjoy her retirement. She was a member of the Carol Baptist Church and her favorite past-time was shopping for clothes, shoes, and purses, not necessarily in that order.
Survivors include four brothers; Paul (Rhoda) Kelley, Rushville, MO, Albert (Gene) Kelley, Rushville, MO,
Dennis (Janet) Kelley, St. Joseph, MO and Terry (Stacy) Kelley, Atchison, KS and two sisters; Patricia Fitzpatrick (Jack Ross) Atchison KS, and Teresa (Claude) Zacharias, Atchison, KS and numerous nieces, and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Her parents preceded her in death.
Kelsey F. Cartledge
1994 – 2019
Kelsey F. Cartledge, 24, of Stafford Virginia, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away February 17, 2019 at Mosaic Life Care.
Kelsey was born on October 21, 1994, in Syracuse, New York, to Mark F. and Lynn M. (Hand) Cartledge.
He was a graduate of Central High School and Missouri Western State University, where he was president and founding father of Alpha Sigma Phi and a member of Rotaract Club. Kelsey enjoyed baseball and played the position of catcher for CHS for four years. Kelsey loved spending time with his family, his brother Ryan and his dog, Nala. He enjoyed motorcycles and mountain biking.
Kelsey was currently employed as a sales and marketing specialist at Storm Pros VA. He previously worked part-time at the St. Joseph YMCA and as an intern for Sunshine Electric Display.
Kelsey was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, John Hand and paternal grandmother, Helen M. Cartledge.
Surviving family includes parents, Mark and Lynn Cartledge, Stafford, Virginia; brother, Ryan Cartledge, Springfield, Missouri; maternal grandmother, Ida Hand; uncles, Scott Cartledge, Daniel Hand, Ed Hand (Lisa); aunts, Jill Cartledge, Ellen Mitchell, Gail Goin; numerous cousins and many loving friends.
Visitation: 4:30-5:30 PM, Tuesday, February 19, 2019 at Cathedral of St. Joseph (519 N. 10th Street, St. Joseph, MO 64501). Memorial Mass immediately following the visitation at the church.
Mr. Cartledge has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden in St. Joseph, Missouri. Inurnment: New Milford Cemetery in New Milford, Pennsylvania.

Betty Lucille Smith
1938 – 2019
Betty Lucille Smith, 80, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Monday, February 18, 2019, at her home.
She was born on September 29, 1938, in Watson, Missouri.
Betty married Francis William Smith, Sr., on September 4, 1954. He survives of the home.
She was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, St. Anne’s Altar Society, Daughters of Isabella, St. Joseph Garden Club, and Joseph Robidoux Historical Society.
She was preceded in death by her father, William Clinton Wade; mother, Ruby Opal (Smith) Kerr; step-father, Carl Clinton Kerr; son, Francis W. Smith, Jr.; grandson, Andrew Smith; and sisters, Charlene Benner and Shirley Ann Wade.
Survivors also include her sons, Carl Smith (Janet) and Michael Smith (Jeanne); grandchildren, Josh (Corrina), Chris (Adrienne), and Levi (Kelly) Smith; great-grandchildren, Henry, Harrison, and Wade Smith; brother, Robert Wade; sister, June Head; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
