She was born July 25, 1950 to Elroy and Pauline Sheehan in Rock Island, Illinois.
Debbie married Marc Johnson on September 17, 1983.
She was a Jehovahs Witness. Debbie was an animal lover and considered her pets family. One of her favorite pastimes was the Renaissance Festival. She would dress the part and knew all the performers. One of her most endearing qualities was her great wit and dry sense of humor.
She was preceded in death by her father.
Survivors include husband, Marc; children, Michael Yeater (Stacy), Jason Yeater, and Bonnie Johnson; grandchildren, Michael John, Seth, Sean, and Brandon; 1 great-granddaughter, Peyton; mother, Pauline; and sister Peggy Dusenberry.

Laverna was born October 14, 1930 in Forest City, Missouri to.. Vernon and Ethyl Markt.
Surviving family includes son, Rickey R. Jackson, grandchildren, Shawn and Katrinka, four great-grandchildren, brother, Charles Markt, sisters, Mary Dodson and Sue Fuets.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter, brother, Robert, sisters, Beverly, Ellen and Margaret.
Visitation will begin after 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 PM Wednesday. A Celebration of Life will be held following the Visitation at our Chapel on Wednesday.
Inurnment will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery at a later date.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting, but most especially spending time with his children; Caden, Cayce and Chloe Jones. Additional survivors are his parents, a brother, Donald (MacKenzie) Jones of St. Joseph, MO, fiance, Colby Phillips of St. Joseph, MO., and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Glen & Jneva Huston, and paternal grandparents, Donald & Norma Jones.

Sissy was a member of the King Hill Baptist Church and the Pleasant Ridge Baptist church of Weston, MO. She was preceded in death by parents, a brother, Willard Winder, and a sister, Alberta Kyle. Survivors include, step daughter, Helen Marie (Marion) Munns of Colorado, Step granddaughter, Deborah Allio, step grandson, Ron Munns, three step great grandchildren, Tim, Matthew & Lisa, and a nephew, Gary Winder of St. Joseph, MO.

She enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino, sewing and collecting pens. She was a sassy fire cracker and will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Max Jennings; parents; great-granddaughter, Tilayna Calhoon; brother, Paul Proctor; and sister, Deanna Proffit.

He married Ruth Ellis on February 16, 1963 and they shared 52 years together. He served in the United States Marine Corp and is a veteran of the Korean War. He retired as a commercial union painter. He enjoyed He hunting, fishing and music, was a member of V.F.W. Post 11, and the American Legion post 359. Bob was preceded in death by his parents. father, Pete Taylor, mother, Oma Lovett, three sons, Douglas, John and Randy Taylor, and a daughter-in-law, Sharon Conroy. Survivors include, wife, Ruth Taylor of the home, four sons, Roger Taylor of CA, Michael (Christy) Conroy, Roger (Lonna) Conroy, and Steve Conroy all of St. Joseph, MO, three daughters, Tina Taylor (Belinda Kalig) of Saint Joseph, MO, Roberta Giles and Cheryl of CA, and daughter-in-law, Patricia Harrison of St. Joseph, MO, a grandson he raised Nathen Taylor Sr. of St. Joseph,. Robert E. Siela, 91, Cameron, Missouri passed away Monday, June 22, 2015.
He was born July 17, 1923 to Joseph and Edna (Kessler) Siela in Hurlingen, Missouri. He graduated from Easton High School, class of 1940.
Mr. Siela proudly served in the US Navy during World War II.
He married Eileen M. Marshall in 1952. She preceded him in death in 2013.
Known as Cowboy, he ran the Centennial Family Dairy Farm that has been in the family since 1845. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus and American Legion Post 359. He was very independent and did things his way. Robert enjoyed playing bingo and pitch in his free time.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; brothers, James, Gerald and Eugene Siela and Joseph Clarion; and sisters, Mary Louise Mackiewicz and Erma Buelher.
Survivors include his children, Carol Wright and Tim Siela; sister, Eunice Grier; grandchildren, Charles Wright, Chad Wright, Natalie Wright-Newman and Chantell Pennington (Tony); and great-grandchildren, Ayklen, Macie and Jaxsen.

Anita F. Brockman, 92, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Saturday, June 13, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born February 19, 1923 to Henry and Anna (Fischer) Kiehnhoff of rural Wathena, Kansas.
Anita married Glen C. Brockman on October 23, 1948. He preceded her in death in 2007.
Mrs. Brockman worked for the U.S. War Department under the Adjutant Generals Office in Washington D.C., during World War II. After the war she took a job with the Federal Aviation in Kansas City, Missouri where she met her husband. She was also involved with serving her church, Our Savior Lutheran in Eufaula, Oklahoma, and volunteering.
Upon retirement, Anita and her husband enjoyed traveling in the U.S. and abroad and attending Elderhostel courses at various colleges. She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her step-daughter, Natalie Plummer, one grandson and two great-grandchildren of Prairie Village, Kansas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was born September 23, 1946 to William and Nedella (Welter) Butler in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He graduated from Lafayette High School class of 1964, Central Missouri State University and Missouri Western State College.
Dennis married Liz Brunk on September 25, 1976. She survives of the home.
Mr. Butler proudly served in the US Army Reserve, retiring as a Sergeant.
He had worked for Herzog for the past 38 years.
DB was an avid Royals and MU Tigers fan. The most important thing to him was his family, especially his grandchildren. He was also a lifetime member of Happy Hour at Nortys and leaves behind many cherished friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, William Buddy and Gary E. Butler; and sister, Patricia Patty Baker.
Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Liz Butler; children, Benji Butler, Joshua White and Jenny Butler; grandchildren, Hayley Butler, Kaitlyn and Jagger Mejia; and beloved dog, Reagan.

Alice was born October 19, 1925 to Shannon and Elizabeth (Armstrong) Stephens in Doniphan County, Kansas. She grew up in the Doniphan County area, graduating from Atchison High School. During WWII, she went to work for Union Pacific Rail Road where she met her husband Rex Grafton, who was currently serving in the U.S. Navy. They later married on February 1, 1946 and moved to St. Joseph. Alice was a homemaker and loved to cook, especially known for her pie baking. Alice was a Christian and a member of King Hill Christian Church, where she had previously served as church secretary.
Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband Rex in 1989; and two brothers, Gerald and Robert Stephens.
Survivors include two children, Michael (Judy) Grafton, of Blue Springs, MO and Kristi Grafton, of St. Joseph; four grandchildren, Christopher Grafton, Dana (Bruce) Evans, Stacy (Roy) Ewing and Kelly (Derek) Thomas; six great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law; several nieces and nephews and longtime companion, Bill Marcell.
Graveside Services and Interment will be 1:00 p.m. Friday, at Doniphan Cemetery, Doniphan Kansas with Chaplain Alan Pruitt officiating. Visitation will be after 2:00 p.m. today, at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home where family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m.

Marjorie Daw Haage, 87, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Friday, May 22, 2015 at a local healthcare facility.
She was born May 30, 1927 in Hutchinson, Kansas.
Marjorie married Don Haage in Garden City, Kansas, on January 3, 1945.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where she was also an elder; a 50-year member of PEO, most recently of Chapter JF; Runcie Club; and Missouri Western State University Ambassadors Club. She volunteered at the St. Joseph Convention and Visitors Bureau, Trails West, and for the Performing Arts Association. Marjorie was an active partner with her husband in the clothing business in Phillipsburg, KS, and Maryville, MO, and later in real estate in St. Joseph. She also worked at the Missouri Western University library for 18 years.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her husband; parents, Edwin and Gertrude (Cassidy) Daw; and a sister, Lois Peddicord. Kenneth loved his family and friends. He was an Eagle Scout and did not know a stranger; he enjoyed motorcycles, traveling, fishing, and playing the piano. He graduated from Savannah High School in 2006. He worked at Country Mart and Spader Farms and loved to be around the horses.
Survivors include, his parents; one brother Kyle Budine and Fiancé Caitie Turner all of Savannah, MO; sister, Terin Budine, St. Louis, MO; maternal grandfather, Franklin Hughes and friend Sue Hagee; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Richard married Gloria Young on November 22, 1944 in Atchison, KS. He was a member of the Rosendale Christian Church, Rosendale, MO. His home meant everything to him and he loved his family dearly. Richard enjoyed farming, was a good honest person and a quit man but when he spoke you listened.
Survivors include his wife Gloria of the home; one son, Richard (Debbie) McGuire; one daughter-in-law Jean McGuire, both of Rosendale, MO; sister Francis (John) McKinney, St. Joseph, MO; four grandchildren, Harold McGuire, Debbie Dykes, Jesse McGuire, Sarah Zimmerman; great grandchildren, Alyssa McGuire, Keith Zimmerman, and Jacob Zimmerman. She was a secretary for the Western Regional Diagnostic Correctional Center, from which she retired in 2013.
She ran Silveys Flower Shop and was quite creative and enjoyed crafts.
She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Jodie Ward; and several brothers and sisters.

W. Jean Smith

Smith-Wilma-Jean-obit-photo-217x300Wilma Jean (Stenzel) Maag Smith, 79, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015. She was born March 6, 1936 in Hamburg, Iowa to Walter J. and Marjorie M. (Hiatt) Stenzel. Jean grew up on a farm in Nemaha County Nebraska; attended the McKissick Island School there, and graduated in 1954 from Hamburg High School, Hamburg, Iowa. She attended St. Josephs Nursing School, St. Joseph, Missouri.
Jean married the love of her life Harold E. Maag in 1956. They became the parents of five children. Harold passed away in 1981. Jean married J.O. Smith in 1984 and they shared 17 years until his passing in 2001. Jean married John Schildknecht in 2004 and he survives of the home.
Her parents and her sister, Doris J. Sowers, precede Jean in death.
Jean enjoyed being a mother and grandmother, living in the country, sewing, quilting, reading, playing the organ, and singing. She became interested in history and genealogy in 1990. She was a member and volunteer in the genealogy department of the Andrew County Museum for many years. She enjoyed helping numerous people doing their own research. He was born March 11, 1927 in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He was a graduate of Benton High School, class of 1945.
Mr. Boyd proudly served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War and was a member of VFW Post 1894 in Clinton, Missouri.
Ken married Carmen Swank in 1951. She preceded him in death in 1983.
He worked in the feed and grain industry prior to moving to Clinton, Missouri where he and his wife owned Valley Hardware.
Ken had a passion for golf and also enjoyed reading.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, Alberta and W.Joseph Boyd of St. Joseph.
Survivors include his daughter, Karen Ann Schwab (Thomas D.) of San Antonio, Texas; granddaughter, Tawnya Henderson (Scott) and great-granddaughter, Riley Grace of San Antonio; granddaughter, Laura Schwab Wintters (Brandon) and great-granddaughters, Addison Faith and Allyssa Joy of San Antonio; granddaughter, Sarah Schwab (Travis Jowell) of Houston; sister, Betty Jo Thomas of St. Joseph and a niece and nephew and their families.

He was born September 19, 1949 in Omaha, Nebraska to George and Mary (Williams) Russell.
George married Vickie Lynn Patterson May 23, 1975.
He was a cook in the United States Army for over 20 years.
He loved fishing, camping, hunting, collecting swords and knives, and enjoyed playing with his grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and son-in-law, Michael Hayden.
Survivors include wife; son, Dustin Russell; daughter, Kelly Hayden; and grandchildren, James, Ryan, Gabriel, and Victoria Russell, and Austin, Joseph, Chase, Olivia, Wyatt, and Cole Kline.

Lisa was born May 21, 1970 in Iowa City, Iowa to Robert and Sandra Cobb. She was a graduate of Savannah High School.
Lisa was employed as a housekeeper at Drury Inn in St. Joseph. She was a member of the Baptist faith, and enjoyed attending auctions and riding on her Harley Davidson. Above all she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
Lisa married Bill Bechtold on April 20, 2009 in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.
Additional survivors include her daughter, Haylee Ball (Cody), Richmond, MO; step-daughter, Tiffany Gazarek (Joe) Savannah, MO., step-son, Matthew Bechtold (Dana), Savannah, MO; seven grandchildren, Brody , Ryder, Chloe, Tanner, Kaden, Keegan and Kale; siblings, Tom and Sharon Walton, St. Joseph, MO; Bill and Shawnee Walton, Forest City, MO; Cheryl and Kim Keith, St. Joseph, MO; Sandy and Jack Hare, Topeka, KS; Bill and Cathy Cobb, Belton, MO; Terry and Rhonda Cobb, Ponka City, OK; Tracy Cobb, IA; Wayne and Sharron, Belton, MO; Debbie and Bill Allender, Maryville, OK and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Bechtold was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Mike Cobb.Services 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Savannah Chapel where the family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service. Interment Savannah Cemetery.

ruth fRuth Anna Foster 90, St. Joseph, MO passed from this life on Friday, June 19, 2015 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. She was born in St. Joseph, MO to A. Clyde & Lucille G. (Spencer) Ingram on September 28, 1924.
Ruth enjoyed reading, helping and caring for people. She was a member of Hillyards first LPN Class and practiced and volunteered her vocation for the remainder of her life. She donated her time in doing regular blood pressure monitoring at the Joyce Ray Patterson Senior Center in St. Joseph.
She is survived by two sons; Charles Wesley (Linda) Brown, Dr. Roger (Cindy) Brown; two daughters, Barbara (Lloyd) Budine, and Marsha (Dr. Robert Allen) Brown, plus close family member John (Dee) Carter; one sister, Catherine Laurence; ten grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren with numerous step-children, step-grandchildren, step-great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, three husbands, Charles Alfred Brown, William Harvey, and Robert Foster, and one sister Gretchen Smiley
Ruth gave a generous donation of her body to KU Med Center for medical research. No services are planned.

She enjoyed playing Bingo and collected Elvis memorabilia. She was a tough, straight forward lady who was not afraid of anything.
Patsy was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Vicky Lynn Vardoulous; sisters, Audrey Lea, Sharon Kay; brothers, Donald Gene and Allen Dale.
Survivors include children, Patsy Moss, St. Joseph, Missouri, Teresa Owens (Larry), St. Joseph, Missouri, Penney Brinton (Chuck), St. Joseph, Missouri, D. L. Williams, Jr., Independence, Missouri and Tim Williams (Kelly), St. Joseph, Missouri; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Larry Dean McDowell (Fran).

He was born September 25, 1944 in Rosendale, Missouri to Sherman and Marie (Adams) Pittman. Larry married Diana Neece on February 1, 1985 in Kansas City, Missouri.  He liked old cars, tractors and anything he could get dirty doing. Larry was a superintendent for E.L. Crawford Construction Company retiring in 2008.  He was a member of the Carpenters Local 110 in St. Joseph.Survivors include his wife Diana of the home; sons, Troy (Angie) Pittman, Savannah, Missouri, Doug (Sarah) Cerra, Troy, Kansas; daughter, Lynne Pittman, Savannah; brother, Garry (Judy) Pittman, Rosendale, Missouri; sisters, Mary Atkins, St. Joseph, Missouri, Shirley (Phillip) Standlea, Raymore, Missouri, Helen Hardister, St. Joseph, and Gloria (Dean) Hurlbut, Country Club, Missouri; four grandchildren, Kirk Pittman, Kinsley (Ben) Pister, Amaris DeLong, Curran DeLong, Tara (Alex) Batty, and Ryan (Rachel) James; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Ilef, Hadassah, Rhema, and Amana. He was born July 23, 1941 in St. Joseph, Missouri son of Garnet & Benjamin Buczek Sr. He married Margaret “Peggy” Danback on April 2, 1960, and they shared 55 years together. He graduated from Christian Brothers high school 1959, was a Truck Driver for several of the local lines. He enjoyed spending time with his sons and was proud of his grandkids, he also enjoyed hunting and fishing in his earlier years. Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Christopher Buczek, and brother, David Buczek. She was born October 7, 1928 to Charles and Jennie Conley in St. Joseph, Missouri.
Velma married Charles Thomas Woolard September 4, 1948 who preceded her in death on April 25, 2003.
Mrs. Woolard was a dietary aid at Methodist Medical Center, a member of the Buchanan County Extension Club, and a member of Woodson Chapel Church since 1955.
She enjoyed working in her garden and being outside.
Velma was preceded in death by her husband; son, Gary Woolard; parents; grandsons, Nicholas and Brandon Woolard; sister, Joanne Conley.

Jack served in the US Navy from 1961 to 1965.
He is survived by son, Jeffery Schuman; daughter, Kelly Angus, both of Des Moines, IA; sisters, Cindy Scott, St. Joseph, MO, and Pamela Gilliland, Atchison, KS; and four grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Jack was preceded in death by his father, mother, stepfather, Cecil Weir; and brother Ronald Schuman.

jmillerJuanita Mae Barber, 82, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, June 14, 2015 at a local hospital.Juanita was born January 14, 1933 to Glenn and Viola (Russell) Valentine in St. Joseph, where she lived her entire life. She was a 1950 graduate of Benton High School. On November 27, 1954 she married Colonel Barber who she shared over fifty years of marriage with before his passing March 1, 2006. In 1992 she retired from Nodaway Valley Bank, where she worked as a bookkeeper. She was a member of former Hyde Valley United Methodist Church. She also was a member of CAJ and the Railroad Old Timers Club. She enjoyed traveling and especially enjoyed her time with family and friends.Preceding her in death are her parents; her husband, Colonel; a brother, Howard Valentine; and nephew Michael Valentine.Survivors include two children, Jackie Barber of Victorville, California and Lisa Barber of St. Joseph; three grandchildren, Jeremy Barber and his wife Stacy, of Anchorage, Alaska, Megan Venegas of El Paso, Texas, and Gary Barber, of Victorville, California; one great-grandson, Vance Venegas; two nephews, James and Paul Valentine and several great-nieces and great-nephews.Ms. Barber has been cremated under the care of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home.A gathering of family and friends will be from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 20 at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home.
