Terrance R. “Terry” Henry, 67, of Platte City, Mo., died Monday, December 16, 2013 in Liberty, Ill.
He was born March 18, 1946 to Donald and Jean (Dolph) Henry in Defuniak Springs, Fla.
Terrance was proud to have served in the United States Air Force, and he felt a deep sense of patriotism. He loved, and was loved by his family, and was a committed follower of The Lord.
He is survived by his wife Janet; daughters, Twilya L’Ecuyer (Tom), Morrowville, Kan., and Tina Evans, St. Joseph; sons, Travis Henry, St. Joseph, Terry Henry (Leslie), Liberty, and Dallas Henry (Alpha), Wilmington, Ill.; ten grandchildren; two sisters; and two brothers. His parents, and one brother preceded him in death.

James Hudson
James (Jim) C. Hudson, Sr., 89, St. Joseph, died Monday, December 16, 2013.
He was married to Imogene Hudson for 67 years. Born in Capps, Ark., James served during WWII with the U.S. Army in the Asia-Pacific Theater and was honorably discharged after being wounded on Leyty Island, Philippines.
He enjoyed everything about the game of golf and passed that on to those around him. He also loved camping, fishing, boating and hunting. For many years he coached youth baseball, attended Frederick Boulevard Baptist Church, and was a member of the King Hill Lodge No 376, A.F. & A.M.
Jim was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Debra Verbeck (Bob), Kansas City and Lynn Bell, Denver, Colo.; sons, James C. Hudson, Jr. (Terri Lynn), and Donnie Hudson (Donna), both of St. Joseph; 13 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren; brother, Carl Hudson; sister, Marilyn Flanery; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Clyde C. Shifflett | 1933-2013
Clyde C. Shifflett 80, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, December 15, 2013 in a Saint Joseph, health care center. He was born November 8, 1933 in Clinton, Mo., son of Pearl and Jake Shifflett.
He retired from Armour & Co. and Heartland Hospital from the maintenance department. He enjoyed fishing and was a member of the 4F Flathead club and he was a Baptist.
Clyde was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Ed Shifflett; two brothers, Thomas Miller and Gene Shifflett; and a sister, Lottie Kerns.
Survivors include his companion of many years, Louise Fergison of St. Joseph; son, Dale (Joy K.) Shifflett; daughter, Barbara Green of St. Joseph; two brothers, Lee Shifflett of Maysville, Mo. and brother, Raymond (Betty) Shifflett of Clarksdale, Mo.; three grandchildren, five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m., on Thursday, December 19 at Rupp Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home.

James J. Wigington | 1940-2013
James J. “JJ” Wigington, 73, St. Joseph, passed away from bone cancer at his home surrounded by family.
He was born November 30, 1940 to James and Mary (Joe) Wigington in St. Joseph.
JJ proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and was an engineer with the Burlington Railroad for thirty-five years.
He enjoyed playing poker with his Wednesday night poker buddies and going to classic car shows. He also enjoyed his trips to Tipton, where he leaves behind many friends. He was an avid Chiefs fan, but most important of all was his family.
JJ was preceded in death by his parents; and a son, Bryan.
Additional Survivors: his beloved wife of 46 years, Judy; daughters, Lori Mollus (Tony) and Jo Peters (Barry); sister, Carroll Fike; grandchildren, Cori Mollus, Jake Mollus (Steph), JP Peters, Katie Chilcoat (Ryan), Kelsie Wigington (Jeff Matthias) and Shelbie Wigington; seven great-grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Karrie Wigington; and numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.

John Lee Stinnett | 1951-2013
John “Big Bad” Lee Stinnett, 62, of Amazonia, Mo., passed away Thursday, December 12, 2013 in Savannah, Mo. He was born July 24, 1951 in Amazonia, son of Mary and Elbert Stinnett. He attended Savannah High School. He worked at Western Fireproofing, Kansas City, Mo., for many years. He enjoyed fishing, drinking Budweiser Beer, road trips and the St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
John was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Vance Stinnett.
Survivors include, six sisters, Ruthie Haynes of Savannah; Nancy (Harold) Rehagen of Amazonia; Judy (David) Welter of Saint Joseph; Jane Hubbard of Savannah; Gwen (Russell) Leslie of Rockdale, Texas; and Melinda Stinnett of Amazonia; sister-in-law, Joannia Stinnett of Kincaid, Kan.; 19 nieces and nephews; and 34 great-nieces and nephews.

Richard D. Schmitt | 1961-2013
Richard D. Schmitt, 52, Olathe, Kan., died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born September 27, 1961 to Clement and Nina (Smelcer) Schmitt in New York, N.Y.
He received his bachelor’s degree and was an engineer for a software company. Rick enjoyed the outdoors, especially camping. He had a dry sense of humor that will be sorely missed.

Ethel Ann Clark | 1919-2013
Ethel Ann Clark, 94, St. Joseph, Missouri died Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born August 3, 1919 to Robert and Relda Ann (Rector) Pippin in Macon, Mo. She married W. T. Clark on July 31, 1959. He preceded her in death in 1991.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, step-daughter, Jennifer Ehlert; grandson, Chris Ehlert; and four brothers and sisters.
Survivors: step-daughters, Lin Clark Werner, recently returned to St. Joseph, and Christine Clark O’Neill, West Palm Beach, Fla.; best friend and caregivers, Connie and Derrell McCrary. Ann is also survived by her 100 year old sister, Deloma Nuhn of Macon; three grandsons; three granddaughters; nine great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Ethel was a member of the St. Joseph Country Club and enjoyed the game of golf.

Kenneth L. Halbert | 1922-2013
Kenneth L. Halbert, 91, Country Club, Mo., passed away Wednesday, December 11, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born August 17, 1922. His parents were Everett and Dora (Bateman) Halbert in Kansas City, Kan. He was a High School Graduate of Turner, Kan., and attended the Kansas City School of Horological (Watchmaking) Studies. He also completed training as a goldsmith.
At the age of 18, Kenneth joined the United States Army Air Corps and taught tail gunnery in Las Vegas, Nev. He was a tail gunner on B17’s and performed reconnaissance over the South Pacific.
Kenneth married Dorothy Elizabeth Smith in 1946. They were married 67 years before his passing. She survives of the home. He and his wife had the opportunity to open Halbert Jewellers in Savannah, Mo., in 1953. He earned international awards for his jewelry displays. He retired in 1985 from the store, and began studying watercolor paintings, for which he received numerous awards.
He was a member of Savannah United Methodist Church, a board member with the Albrecht-Kemper Museum, American Gem Society, Horological Watchmakers Society of America, American Legion Dick Munkres Post 287, Savannah Lodge No. 71 A.F. and A.M., Thirty-Second Degree Scottish Rite Mason, Moila Shrine.
Mr. Halbert was preceded in death by his parents.

Charles M. Garreth | 1957-2013
Charles M. Garreth, 56, a lifelong resident of Easton, Mo., died Tuesday, December 10, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
He was born January 20, 1957 to Bob and Jean (Brooner) Garreth in St. Joseph, and was a 1975 graduate of Central High School. Charles was a farmer and enjoyed playing cards, listening to organ music, and was also a mechanic who could fix anything.
He was a member of the Abundant Life Center congregation of Community of Christ Church, a friend to all he met, and was always so generous with his time, without a need for something in return.
He was preceded in death by his father; uncle, Merle Garreth; uncle, Myron Hedrick; uncle, Orman Brooner; uncle, Richard (El Marie) Brooner; and aunt, Allie (Joe) Tolbert.

Jessie Lee (Beers) Pierce 84, of St. Joseph, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2013 in a St. Joseph health care center.
She was born November 17, 1929 in Trenton, Mo. The daughter of Ortha and Raymond Alderson. She retired from the State Hospital as a Nurse’s Aid. She enjoyed playing Bingo, was a member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary # 6760 and a Baptist.
Jessie was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Beers; second husband, Willard Pierce; her parents; a son, Ricky Foster; sister, Mae Marie; Mang, and a brother, Frank Alderson. Survivors include, daughter, Connie Welter and husband Dennis, and son, LeeRoy Foster, a step-son, Roy Beers, step-daughter, Joy Hodges all of St. Joseph; a sister, Leona Keuhn of Trenton; five grandchildren, Tracy Steltenpohl, Leslie Wilson, Dakota Summers, Shelly Cady and Tracy Welter; and 11 great grandchildren.
