Mary Lynn Harrison, 51, of St. Joseph, was called home, Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

Lynn was born on August 24, 1962 in Denver, Colorado to Charles “Gary” and Mary Alice (Kinder) Hood. She was raised in St. Joseph where she graduated from Bishop LeBlond High School. She was employed at Murphy-Watson-Burr Eye Center for 13 years as an Optician.

She was a member of Green Valley Baptist Church.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Charles “Gary” Hood, maternal grandparents, Caddo and Grace Kinder and paternal grandparents, John and Hazel Hood and 2 grandchildren, Katelynn Louise and Sophia Francis Hoskins.

She married David Harrison, her husband and soul mate, on September 2, 1995 in St. Joseph. He survives of the home.

Additional surviving family includes her 4 children, Jeanette Wells, of St. Joseph; Jason (Gabriella) Skidmore, Ashland, Virginia; Jeni Skidmore and Ashley (Shawn) Hoskins, both of St. Joseph; 7 grandchildren, mother, Mary Alice (Larry) Smithers, siblings, John Hood (Marilyn Rodriguez), Pam (Ron) Greiner, Laurie (Cort) Huffman, Brenda Calvert, Jeff Carrel (Paula Trautman), numerous nieces and nephews, and her pet Yorkie, Olivia.

She was a loving woman of faith, Wife, Mother, Grandmother, Daughter and Sister. Lynn’s faith and her family always came first and her permanent smile was always uplifting to all. She will be immortal in our love.

Celebration of Life 1:00 PM Saturday at Green Valley Baptist Church under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Mrs. Harrison will be removed from our chapel to arrive at the Church one hour prior to the service.

Visitation will begin after 6:00 PM Friday at Green Valley Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends until 8:00 PM Friday evening.

Frances Louise Henry

Frances Louise Henry, 89, Maryville, Missouri, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Louise was born April 27, 1924, in Cainsville, Missouri to Virgil Joseph and Grace Amanda (Craig) Willis.

A graduate of Horace Mann High School, Louise formerly operated a daycare center.

She married Welburn Hill “Tommy” Thompson on August 4, 1943 in Troy Kansas, who preceded Louise in death (May 10, 1985). On March 14, 1991, Louise married Donald Richard Henry in Maryville. He also preceded her in death (March 15, 2009).

Louise was a member of the Laura Street Baptist Church, Maryville, Rolla Dick American Legion Auxiliary, Burlington Junction, Missouri, and the Widowed Persons Group of Nodaway County.

Preceding in death were her parents, husbands and brother Lloyd Willis.

Survivors include son Dr. Lloyd (Evelyn) Thompson, Lake Mary, Florida, grandson Trevor (Cathy) Thompson, Neenah, Wisconsin, half sister Bessie Lorene Harris, Bethany, Missouri and great-grandchildren Zachary and Zoe Thompson.

Graveside Services and burial will be 11:00 am, Monday, November 11, 2013, Oak Hill Cemetery, Maryville, Missouri.

Memorials may be made to Laura Street Baptist Church in Louise’s name.

Christine “Chris” Martin, 58, St. Joseph, Missouri died Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.
She was born July 9, 1955 to Virgil and Bertha Carpenter in Falls City, Nebraska.
She graduated from Mid-Buchanan High School in 1973. She worked at MEAD for twenty-six years and later at the Noyes Home for Children. She also worked at Northwest Missouri Psychiatric Rehabilitation Center where she was a dedicated caregiver who had a wonderful sense of humor.
Chris was a member of Grace Evangelical Church and loved spending time with family, especially her beloved grandchildren. .
She was preceded in death by her mother, Bertha Carpenter; and nephew, Jason Carpenter.
Survivors: daughter, Christi Martin (Bryan); son, Dace Martin (Sami); father, Virgil Carpenter; brothers, Dave Carpenter (Karla), Steve Carpenter (Angie), and Ron Carpenter (Alma); sisters, Diane Nation and Debbie Lebow (Rick); five granddaughters, Aneisha, Amiya, Aleksia, Kateline and Hailey; and many many friends.

Fredrick Lee Meyer, 60, Saint Joseph, Missouri, died Tuesday, November 5, 2013, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph.

Fredrick was born Friday, May 15, 1953, in Maryville, Missouri to Lorn Charles and Ida Marie Frazier Meyer.

He had been married to Jeannie Lewis, they later divorced.

A retired Northwest Missouri State University Steam Fitter Plumber, he had also been a Corrections Officer at the Maryville Treatment Center.

Preceding him in death: his parents; one son Jeremy Meyer; brothers: Patrick, John and Charles Lynn Meyer; sister Lorna Jean Meyer.

Survivors include his three sons: Michael Lewis, Saint Joseph, James Meyer, Maryville and Jeffrey Meyer, Bullhead City, Arizona; daughter Jennifer Snyder, Maryville; eight grandchildren; brothers: Jim Meyer, Burlington Junction, Missouri, Michael Meyer, Gaston, Oregon and Brian Meyer, Denver, Missouri; sisters: Charlene Saunders, Burlington Junction, Linda Bartlett, Melvern, Kansas, Patricia Donner, Springfield, Missouri and Rebecca Conn, Omaha, Nebraska and companion Kathy Endsley, St. Joseph.

Dorothy “Dot” F. Dollar, 85, Lanett, Alabama died Sunday, November 3, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center in St. Joseph, Missouri.
She was born January 27, 1928 to Rev. John and Virginia (Eagan) Frazier in Memphis, Tennessee.
She grew up in Dawson Springs, Kentucky, where she graduated from high school in 1946. She then met the love of her life, Charlie Calvin Dollar. They were united in marriage in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1981.
Dorothy was dedicated to her church and studied to be a Methodist missionary. She was a member of Pine Forest Christian Church in Lanett, Alabama and was a scout leader for the special troops.
She enjoyed cooking and baking for others and loved her family and friends very much.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; son, Calvin “Bubba” Frazier Dollar; and sister, Dr. Virginia Frazier Harich.
Survivors: sons, Rev. J.C. Dollar (Carol) and Thomas “Tommy” Eugene Dollar; grandsons, Scott Dollar, all of St. Joseph, MO; daughter-in-law, Denise Harmon Dollar and grandson, Charles Dollar of Lanett, Alabama; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born September 24, 1982 to Gary Bockelman and Sara Hamilton in St. Joseph, Missouri.
He attended Cathedral School and Savannah High School and was a music DJ.
He was preceded in death by his father, Gary Bockelman; grandparents, Gloria and Albert Bockelman and Edna and Willis Hamilton; and uncle, Keith Bockelman.

Delbert F. Thomas, 89, of St. Joseph, passed away Sunday, November 3, 2013 at LaVerna Village of St. Joseph.

Delbert was born on June 21, 1924 in New Hampton, Missouri, to Manford and Silvia (McNeese) Thomas, from where he was raised and graduated high school.

Delbert worked for Superior Supply Store and retired from there in 1989. He was a member of Deer Park Grace United Methodist Church and enjoyed camping.

He joined the United States Army during World War II. After his service in the Army, he married Betty Mae Eisenbarger on May 4, 1946. She preceded him in death on May 14, 1997. They had one daughter, Linda Waters, who passed away on January 12, 2013.

Delbert was also preceded in death by his parents, sister, Mildred Thomas, 1 step-grandchild, 1 great-grandson, and 1 great-granddaughter.

Surviving family includes grandsons, Travis (Kezia) Osborn, of Stanberry, Missouri; Thomas Waters, St. Joseph; sister-in-laws, Dorothy Eisenbarger, of Lawrence, KS; and Pat Eisenbarger, of Grove, OK; great-grandson, Elijah Osborn, 7 step-grandchildren, and 16 step great-grandchildren.

Services 11:00 AM Thursday at Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel.

Graveside Committal will be held at 1:30 PM Thursday at Kidwell Cemetery, Martinsville, Missouri.

He graduated from Benton High School class of 1973, then entered the United States Navy, serving during the Viet Nam era. He worked at Missouri Department of Corrections as a Seargant for 24 years. Eddie was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie and Susan Rice who raised him in their home, He is survived by his mother Dorothy Gardner, daughter, Jenny Myers, son, Ronnie Rice and wife Michele all of St. Joseph, MO, nine grandchildren, Derek, Trent, Brett, Shawn, and Kaela Rice, and Christopher, Rhiannon, Gabrielle, and Samantha Myers, a great-granddaughter, Jaselyn Myers, three sisters, Suson Koenig of St. Louis, MO, Julie Pugh of California, MD, and Rhonda Ripley-West of Wathena, KS. She married Charles Hollingsworth on November, 17 1951. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1994.
Mary Ann was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters, Margaret and Shirley; and five brothers, Donald, Clayton, Willis, Gene, and Robert.
