Gregory Allen Strueby, 54, Conception Junction, Missouri, died Friday, October 4, 2013,  at Maine Medical Center, Portland, Maine.

Gregory  was born  October 6, 1958, in Maryville, Missouri to Thomas Gregory and Kathryn Lucille (Allen) Strueby.

A 1976 graduate of  Northeast Nodaway High School, Ravenwood, attended Northwest Missouri State University.  Gregory  was a Pipeline Worker for AMOCO Pipeline and most recently lost a long time battle with cancer.

Gregory  was a member of the St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction.

Survivors include his longtime companion Susan Dunn, parents, three sons: Eric (Dawn)  Strueby, Lenexa, Kansas, Matthew (Melissa)  Strueby, Bedford, Iowa,  Jacob (Heather) Strueby, Platte City, Missouri, grandchildren Luke and Ian Strueby, Brock and Charlee Strueby, brothers Jeffrey (Ronda) Strueby, Conception Jct., Missouri, and David Strueby, Maryville, Missouri.

Visitation is  5:00 PM to 7:00 PM,  Thursday, October 10, 2013, at St. Columba Catholic Church, Conception Junction, Missouri, where a Parish Prayer Service will follow the visitation at 7:00 PM.  Mr. Strueby body will be cremated after the services.

Margie E. (Todd) Stephens, 88, Fallbrook, CA, died Saturday, September 14, 2013 at Fallbrook Hospital, Fallbrook, California.

She was born March 2, 1925 at Sampsel, Missouri and moved to St, Joseph, Missouri in June 1933.

After attending Lafayette High School, she was a telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company and later worked for J.C. Penny Company.

On November 28, 1946 she married Warren E. Stephens in St. Joseph, Missouri. She was a member of the Second Presbyterian Church, where she served as secretary and on the Board of Deacons. She was also active in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, and in genealogy work. Margie was a charter member of the Fire Fighter Auxiliary and served as their first treasurer. She and her husband moved to Fallbrook, California near San Diego, in April 1990.

Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Leroy Sr. and Alice M. Todd; son, James W. Stephens; brothers, Leroy Jr., Robert O., and Don L. Todd; and sisters, Dorothy M.Todd and June Meade.

She is survived by Warren, her husband of 67 years; daughter, Kathryn J. Eichstedt, Fallbrook, California; grandchildren, Douglas Lindsey and Kelly Lindsey (Robert Frost); great-grandchildren, Katelyn, Kristina, Ashlee, and Luke Lindsey; sister, Betty Carnes; and several nieces and nephews.

Edna Marie Johnson, 65, St. Joseph, Missouri died Monday, September 30, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

She was born July 8, 1948 to Charles and Ruby (Foley) Fletcher.

She was preceded in death by her parents; divorced husband, Millard; and step-sister, Mary E. Mayo.

Survivors: brother, Charles E. Fletcher; three nieces; two nephews; and one great nephew.

Marjorie A. (Walters) Larison, 73, Rosendale, Missouri joined her heavenly father and reunited with her daughter on Wednesday, October 2, 2013.

She was born April 2, 1940 to Charles and Goldie (Miller) Walters in St. Joseph, Missouri.

She married Calvin Seay Larison on July 8, 1961. He survives of the home.

Marjorie worked for Mead Products for thirty-three years until retiring in 2002. She was a kind hearted woman and was always willing to lend a hand. She will be remembered for her love of life and devotion to family.

She enjoyed many things in life such as canning and cooking and loved hunting season.

She was preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Lorna J. Young; brothers, Clyde and James Walters; and sisters, Velma Fitch and Thelma Burley.

Additional Survivors: son, Joseph Larison, Rosendale, Missouri; daughter, Angela Carter (Chad), Rosendale, Missouri; grandchildren, Erin Larison (Kristi), Ashley Young, Nathan Young, Cierra Adkins, Joshua Larison, Haley McCallon, RaeAnn Larison, Shaylynne Carter and Cayden Carter; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; two brothers, Marvin Walters (Carol) and Robert Perks (Pam); and four sisters, Helen Perks, Betty Flynn, Ruby Lamphiear, and Mary Hamilton (Harry).

Ralph Erling Church, 88, Liberty, Missouri died Thursday, October 3, 2013 at St. Lukes Hospital.

He was born February 10, 1925 to Noah and Eva (Childress) Church in Judsonia, Arkansas.

He married Madalyne M. Schweder on September 22, 1951. She survives of the home.

Ralph worked for General Motors for thirty-two years, was in the Delco Remy Division and an ordained minister.

He was a member of the American Legion Post #1000, Smithville, Missouri, VFW Post #5717, Kearney, Missouri, a World War II veteran of the United States Navy and Gideon. He was also a member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Liberty, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; son, James Frederick Church; and brother, Hubert Miless Church.

Additional Survivors: sons, Daniel Ralph Church (Debra), Michael Dean Church (Denise), and Paul Edward Church; daughter, Kathy Church; grandchildren, Sarah D. Price (Seth), Matthew D. Church, Anna M. Pascual “Pasci” Jaramillo

20131003-160516_01Pascual “Pasci” Jaramillo 89, of Saint Joseph, Missouri, passed away Wednesday, October 2, 2013 in Saint Joseph, MO. He was born May 17, 1924 in Holbrook, AZ, son of Antonia and Carmen Jaramillo. He served in the Army and is a veteran of the World War II, recipient of the purple heart, and was a prisoner of war in Germany from October 1944 to May of 1945. He went on to serve his county retiring from the United States Army and later worked in the civil service transportation department in Leavenworth Kansas. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6760, founding member of the Guadalupe Men’s club, and a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. James Catholic Church. Pasci was preceded in death by wife, Sarah (Arajo) Jaramillo after 61 years of marriage, his parents, a sister, Sally Karshal, 2 brothers, Nick Carrillo, and Mike Jaramillo. Survivors include, his son Pascual “Paco” Jaramillo of St. Joseph, former daughter-in-Law, Pam Jaramillo of Saint Joseph, MO, grandchildren, Hailey, Myles, and Tyler Jaramillo as well as 2 great grandchildren, Mason and Jordan Allday of St. Joseph, MO, 2 sisters, Belen Mejia and Maria Stone, and a brother, John Casteneda all of St. Joseph.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 AM Monday, October 7, 2013 at the St. James Catholic Church, Father Evan Harkins Celebrant. The Rosary will be recited at 5:00 PM Sunday, and the family will receive friends until7:00 PM at the Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Mount Olivet Cemetery . Lucile S. Schneider, 101, St. Joseph, Missouri passed away Thursday, October 3, 2013 at a local healthcare facility.

She was born on July 22, 1912 to Frank W. and Bertha (Stuber) Knadler in Easton, Missouri.

She graduated from Easton High School and Platte Gard Business College.

Lucile worked as a secretary at Western Tablet & Stationery Company for 10 years and at First Baptist Church for 20 years. After her retirement she volunteered at Hands of Hope Hospice for five years.

She was an active member of Zion United Church of Christ since 1936 and of the Ladies Edelweiss Society of Swiss Lodge.

On June 10, 1933, she married Preston L. Schneider, who preceded her in death May 9, 1992. She and her husband loved to travel and visited all fifty states, as well as all of the continents except Antarctica.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Ronda K. Chapman; sister, Erna Ford; and son, Gary G. Schneider.

Survivors: daughter-in-law, Enid Schneider, St. Joseph, Missouri; four grandchildren, Craig Schneider, Lisa Knoll (Karl), Kristine Chapman, and Jessica Zemler (Philip); and five great-grandchildren.

Roney Louis Haden

Roney Louis Haden, 71, of Jefferson City, passed away Tuesday, October 1, 2013, at St. Joseph’s Bluffs Nursing Home.

He was born on August 31, 1942, in St. Joseph, a son of the late Roney A. Haden and Eileen (Russell) Haden-Satterfield.

He was united in marriage on May 6, 1967, in St. Joseph to Susan Kay Gilbert, who survives at their home.

He was a 1960 graduate of Central High School in St. Joseph and earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering in 1965 from the MO School of Mines in Rolla.

Roney served in the United States Army from 1965 to 1967 as a 1st Lieutenant in the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam. He remained with the Army Reserves until 1974. He began working in 1965 for MO Department of Transportation in St. Joseph (District 1), and later transferred to Willow Springs (District 9), and Jefferson City (Main Office and District 5) retiring as District Engineer in 1999.

He was a Registered Professional Engineer and a member of Acacia Fraternity and Chi Epsilon Fraternity (Honor Fraternity for Engineering). Roney was a Priest in the RLDS Church (Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints).

He is also survived by one daughter: Jeanne Green and her husband Lt. Colonel Darrell Green of Boiling Springs, Pennsylvania; two grandchildren: Ryan Green and Sara Green; his step-mother: Lily Haden of St. Joseph; and two step-brothers: Rex Riepen of Australia and Rod Riepen of the State of California.

She was born December 13, 1932 to Ezra and Clara Smith in Marshall, Missouri.

She married Jasper Owen Frakes. They later divorced.

She was a foster mother and loved the lake and camping.

She owned and operated Frakes’ Auto Salvage, worked for Whitaker Cable and drove a school bus for thirty-five years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Vernon Smith and George Embrey.

Survivors: daughters, Sharon Beckett (Kelly), Linda McDowell (James Bally), and Martha Sutton (Donnie), all of St. Joseph, Missouri; sons, David R. Smith (Christina), Dekalb, Missouri, Richard Smith (Corby), Rushville, Missouri, Michael Smith (Wilma), Rushville, Missouri, Robert Frakes, St. Joseph, Missouri, and Edward Groce (Sondra), St. Joseph, Missouri; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and foster children;and several nieces and nephews.

Lucille Schmidt, 92, Maryville, Missouri, died Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at Indian Meadows Care Center,  Overland Park, Kansas.

Lucille was born October 6, 1920, in Maryville, to J.C. and Sadie (Banner) Davis.

A Maryville High School graduate, Lucille was a homemaker.

She married Robert  Len Schmidt on  April 12, 1941, in Maryville.

Lucille  was a member of the First United Methodist Church, the Church Circle, and formerly a Sunday School and Bible School Teacher, the 20th Century Club and the Alert Rebecca’s.

Preceding in death were her parents, husband Robert Len Schmidt (April 10, 1991) and daughter Cheryl Schmidt ( May 23, 2008).

Survivors include  her sons  Ron Schmidt and Tony Schmidt, Maryville, and several nieces and nephews.

Open visitation will begin after 9:00 AM on Saturday morning.

Graveside Service and Burial  will be 2:30 PM, Monday, October 7, 2013, at Prairie Home Cemetery, Graham.  The family will gather at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, and process to the cemetery for the service.
