Delores “Mama D” Stout

stoutdeloresDelores “Mama D” Stout 74, of County Club Village, Missouri, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, September 15, 2013 from the a heart attack. She was born September 1, 1939 in Maryville, MO, daughter of Fern and Elbert Phillippe. She worked at Stetson Hat Company retiring after 35 years of service. Mama D was a very giving and caring person and a proud survivor of Breast Cancer, and a former member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. Delores was preceded in death by her parents, a son, Danny Stout, and a sister, Jaquelin O’Meara. Survivors include daughter, Dyann Fortune and husband Jeff, two sons, Marty Stout and wife Stacy, and John Stout all of St. Joseph, MO, seven, grandchildren, seven, great grandchildren. The battle is over for “Mama D”. She went to be with her Lord and Savior. Thank you Jesus.

Graveside funeral services and interment will be conducted on Thursday, September 19, 2013 at 10:00 am, at the Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Wednesday at the Rupp Funeral Home. Memorials are requested to the Delores Stout Memorial Fund in care of Rupp Funeral Home. Billy Lee Garoutte,

Billy Lee Garoutte, 73, formerly of St. Joseph, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2013 at his daughters residence near Yates Center, Ks.

He was born August 23, 1940 to Mona Martin and Harvey Garoutte Sr.

Bill graduated from Benton High School and later attended Missouri Western State College. In 1984 he married Debbie McKinney. He worked several years at a local bowling alley and later as a night watchman at Bliss Manor, retiring in 2004 due to poor health.

Preceding him in death is his parents and sister, Dorothy Houser.

Survivors include his wife, Debbie Garoutte; brother Harvey Garoutte Jr.; son Allen (Sarah) Garoutte; daughter Tyleia (Jeff) Prendergast and five wonderful grandchildren.

Bill has been cremated under direction of Clark-Sampson Funeral Home.

Memorial Service will be 4:00 Thursday at Clark-Sampson Funeral Home.

Jane Mitchell, 92, Maryville, Missouri, died Saturday, September 14, 2013, at Living Community of St. Joseph, Saint Joseph, Missouri.

Jane was born August 11, 1921, in Orleans, Nebraska the daughter of Clarence H. and Ellen (Rowlett) Hodge.

She was a graduate of Skidmore High School, Skidmore, Missouri and held a B.S. in Home Economics from the University of Missouri, Columbia, Missouri.

Jane had done substitute teaching for the schools in the area.

She married Harry Warren (Hap) Mitchell September 18, 1943, in St. Joseph.

Jane was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Maryville and United Methodist Women, an American Red Cross Volunteer, and a volunteer at Eugene Field Elementary School.

Preceding her in death were her parents, husband Hap (9/8/1981) and one daughter Ann Mitchell Guest and son-in-law Dwaine Guest.

Survivors include her daughter Mary (Larry) Sinker, Saint Joseph, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held 10 AM, Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at the Price Funeral Home, Maryville, where visitation will be on Monday, September 16, from 6:30-7:30 PM. Burial will be in Miriam Cemetery, Maryville.

Raymond C. Wall, 85, Savannah, Missouri died Wednesday, September 11, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

He was born January 16, 1928 to Lloyd and Leona (Smith) Wall in Whitesville, Missouri.

Raymond married Ruth Bradley on September 19, 1953, she preceded him in death on April 28, 2013.

Raymond served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He was a gifted athlete who was known for playing basketball and pitching
softball. Raymond and his brother owned and operated John Deere in Savannah, Missouri. Raymond farmed, which was his passion, enjoyed tractor pulls and operated heavy equipment. He and his wife Ruth were also foster patents. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Savannah, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; sister, Leona Rankin and brother, Lloyd Wall.

Survivors: daughters, Hava Wall and Ginger Wall (Mark); grandchildren, Justin Grad (Ciani) and Dillon Aguilar; sister, Beverly June and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

Nancy C. Schmeisser, 82, St. Joseph, Missouri died Friday, September 13, 2013 at Heartland Regional Medical Center.

She was born April 24, 1931 to Carl and Lydia (Glashagle) Kirk in St. Louis, Missouri.

She married Robert Frederick Schmeisser on November 18, 1950. He preceded her in death on April 30, 1988.

Nancy was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Hope Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school for twenty years and was also a longtime choir member. She was a member of Lutheran Women’s Missionary League.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Jane Swain and Peggy Verna.

Survivors: daughter, Beth Schmeisser, St. Joseph, Missouri; son, Rev. Kirk Schmeisser (Jan), St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Timothy, St. Joseph, Missouri and Matthew, Des Moines, Iowa; nephew, Richard Swain; and niece, Pamela Cooper.

Alice Stevens, 85, of Savannah, MO, formerly of Carthage, SD, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2013 at a St. Joseph health care facility.

Survivors include her children, Raymond (Bertie) Stevens, of Carthage, South Dakota and Carol (Victor) Dye of Savannah, MO; six grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and seven great-great grandchildren.

Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at Trinity Lutheran Church in Carthage, SD. Interment will follow in Pleasant View Cemetery, Carthage, SD.

Reva Vivian Newberry

Reva Vivian Newberry, 93, Maryville, Missouri, died Thursday, September 12, 2013, at Nodaway Nursing Home, Maryville.

Reva was born January 05, 1920, in Pickering, Missouri to Isaac Ansil and Ethel Kessiah (Sharr) Treese.

A graduate of Pickering High School, she retired as sales clerk for Place’s Department Store, Maryville.

Reva was a member of the West Union Primitive Baptist Church, Orrsburg, Missouri.

Preceding Reva in death were her parents and sisters Verna Collins and Irene Staten and brothers Don, Irvin, and Bernard Treese.

Survivors include brother Eugene “Gene” Treese, Maryville, sister Iva May Thompson, sister- in- law Mary Treese, all of Maryville, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral Services will be10:30 AM, Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Price Funeral Home Chapel, Maryville, with burial following in Orrsburg Cemetery, Parnell, Missouri. Open visitation will start after 9 AM Saturday.

He was an over the road truck driver for Melton Trucklines.

Michael was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Linda Holmes; great-granddaughter, Izleigh Jael Jourdan Lyman; and brother, Bruce Taylor.

Glen was born, January 8, 1952, in Maryville, to Earl Ellery and Mildred Margaret (Bratcher) Sharr.

A graduate of North Nodaway High School, class of 1971 , he was a employed at NoCoMO Industries in Maryville. Glen had the honor of being employed the longest time at the workshop.

Glen was a member of the Church of Christ, Maryville and enjoyed bowling as a pastime with friends and participated in the Special Olympics of Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Howard Sharr.

Survivors include his sister Margaret (Michael) Smail, Maryville, two nephews Scott (Becky) Smail, St. Louis, Missouri, Jason (Karissa) Smail, Kansas City, Missouri, two nieces Karen (Carl) Miller, Ravenwood, Missouri, and Kathy Smail, Maryville, eight great nieces and 2 great nephews.

Beverly was preceded in death by former husband, Vencil Palmes, her parents, 2 brothers, Roland Garish, and David Garish Jr. Survivors include, daughter, Sherry Swanson of Dearborn, MO, son, Rodney (Heidi) Palmes of Wichita, KS, a sister Darlene Garish, four grandchildren, Shawn Swanson, Tesa Swanson, Rodney Palmes Jr. and Jimmy Palmes, and several great grandchildren.
