Amanda Berry, Gina DeJesus and Michelle Knight thanked the public for offering encouragement as well as financial support that is allowing them to restart their lives. Former bus driver Ariel Castro is accused of kidnapping and raping the women.

A large crowd gathered to greet the team early Tuesday morning, after they won the Stanley Cup final in game 6 over the Boston Bruins, 3-2.
Chicago scored twice in 17 seconds, with less than 90 seconds on the clock, to win. Here’s a video of the final two minutes.

Former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson has been sentenced to 30 days in jail for a probation violation in his domestic violence case.
Blame it on a sports tradition.
The former “Ochocinco” had reached a deal with prosecutors to get counseling and do community service instead of serving jail time, but the deal was pulled off the table when he angered the judge.
The judge’s mood turned sour when she asked Johnson if he was satisfied with his attorney, and Johnson responded by smacking his lawyer on the behind.
Johnson had previously missed several meetings with his probation officer.

A tornado tore through St Charles County, Missouri on Friday, destroying dozens of homes.
One storm chaser, who called himself “Tornado Tim,” threw caution, and common sense, to the wind by driving directly into the storm.
“Tim H.” posted this video on You Tube. It includes some 1st hand commentary that proves very entertaining.
“I guess a sane person probably wouldn’t drive right into it.”
“That is a full-blown tornado coming right at us. Nice.”
“A normal sane person would probably pack up and move right about now.”
“I better put my seat belt on.”
“They don’t call me Tornado Tim for nothing.”
