Fire in a midtown duplex left two families homeless Wednesday  morning in Saint Joseph. Fire inspector Rob Blizzard says it started on the front porch of 711 Warsaw shortly after 1 am. It spread to both the downstairs and upstairs units, causing an estimated $50,000 damage. There were no injuries, but the units are uninhabitable.

The Red Cross is helping both families. The cause of the fire is undetermined and is under investigation.
