Two Indicted For Fatal Arson Fire In Manhattan

USDOJ colorTwo people are charged in a federal indictment with arson resulting in death, after a fire at an apartment complex in Manhattan, Kansas.

Patrick Scahill, 20, and Virginia Griese, 19, both of Manhattan, face a 20-year minimum prison term and up to life behind bars if convicted.

They are charged with setting the fire February 6 at the Lee Crest Apartments that claimed the life of resident Vasanta Pallem, 24, a postdoctoral researcher at KSU.
