St Joseph Police say the report of a gunshot fired in the area of two local schools in “unfounded.”

The report prompted them to warn those two schools.

Officials at Truman Middle School and Mark Twain Elementary placed the facilities in lock-down.

But Captain Matt Rock says officers checked out the report and found it to be unfounded.
