A North Kansas City credit union was robbed Thursday morning, prompting precautionary lockdowns at two schools and at the North Kansas City district offices.

Community America Credit Union at 5400 NE Antioch Rd. was robbed about 9:15 a.m. by a black man wearing long black athletic shorts, a long sleeve white shirt and a two-toned yellow and black ball cap.

The FBI said the suspect was carrying a black, small duffle-style bag and displayed a weapon.

The man fled on foot and was last seen heading southwest.
