Margaret Johanna Hertel Meyn
1920-2013

Margaret Johanna Hertel Meyn, left this life and went home to the Lord on Thursday, August 15, 2013 at the age of 92. She was born October 22, 1920, in St. Joseph, Missouri and lived here her entire life.
She was a 1937 graduate from Lafayette High School and a life-long member of St. Peter Lutheran Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, where she remained active until her death.
Margaret was interested in many things: she enjoyed gardening, sewing, traveling and reading, but her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family, helping and serving others. She had a strong faith in the Lord Jesus and joy is hers today.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernst and Emma Reinert; brothers, Walter, George and Norman; sister, Dorothy Brigham; first husband, Ernest Hertel; second husband, Clement Meyn; and her son-in-law, Robert East.
Margaret is survived by her daughters, Barbara East, Peggy Ransom (Don), and Janis Irwin (David); grandchildren, Lisa Miller (Billy), Jennifer Moore (Ron), Elizabeth Zahnd (Curtis), Christopher Ransom (Lisa), Lauren Dreis (Brian), Ryan Irwin (Bethany), and Joelle Irwin (Cory Teal). Surviving their beloved Great Nanny are her great grandchildren, Amanda and Abigayle Miller, Gracie and Sam Moore, Emmaleigh and Cooper Zahnd, Addison Carrel, and Mercy and Justice Irwin. A large extended family and many friends also mourn her passing.
Services: 3:00 P.M. Monday, St. Peter Lutheran Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Sunday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5:00 P.M. Sunday.
