Charges have been filed against a 51-year-old St Joseph man in connection with the death of a woman found in Platte County last week.
Tangela Fisher was found in a home made box in an area near East Dye Store Road last Friday, September 13.
In court documents, St Joseph police say Martin Lee Williams prepared a syringe containing a controlled substance for Fisher on September 5.
Officials say she injected it and then became unresponsive.
According to the court affidavit, Williams did not call for any medical assistance, but instead built a wooden box, placed the victim’s body in it, and took the box to a location in Platte County. Police say he never reported the death.
Officials say Williams is on parole out of the state of Kansas, and was not supposed to leave that state. They add that he has an extensive criminal history and is the subject of a non-extraditable warrant out of California for Burglary.
Williams is being held under $50,000 bond pending formal court arraignment on Tuesday, September 24. He is charged with involuntary manslaughter and abandonment of a corpse.
