A Topeka man has died from injuries sustained in a six-vehicle crash on I-29 Monday. Jerry Wofford, 65, was one of five people hurt in the crash near Platte City.
Missouri State Highway Patrol investigators say Wofford’s Volkswagen was among several that were slowing down in a construction zone when they were hit from behind by a semi.
The driver of the semi, Robert Sanko of Topeka, was treated for moderate injuries at North Kansas City Hospital.
Wofford was transported to Heartland Regional Medical Center where he later died.
Three other motorists, including a St Joseph woman, were treated for minor injuries.
