Mo. Man sentenced for child porn

Jail(AP) – A 51-year-old southwest Missouri has been sentenced to 25 years in prison for receiving child pornography over the Internet.

The Joplin Globe reported that James L. Hagerman was sentenced Wednesday to 25 years without parole. Hagerman was also ordered to stay on supervised release for 20 years after completing the prison term.

Hagerman pleaded guilty Feb. 7 to two counts of receiving child pornography.

The charges stemmed from a 2012 investigation by the Southwest Missouri Cyber Crimes Task Force, which identified Hagerman’s computer as the source of more than 100 files of child pornography being made available on the Internet through a peer-to-peer file-sharing program.
