Two pickup trucks collided at a rural crossing near Polo, Missouri Friday afternoon, sending one of the drivers to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol and Caldwell County Sheriff’s Office responded to the crash two miles south of Polo on Southwest Price Drive at 3:45 pm.

Investigators say John Witthar, 57, of Lathrop, Missouri suffered moderate injuries when his truck skidded sideways, hit an embankment and overturned. Witthar was transported by private vehicle to Liberty Hospital.

The other driver, 17-year-old James Endsley of Polo, suffered minor injuries but refused treatment at the scene.
