Eagle Communications today announced the non-profit organization that will benefit from the first-ever BaconFest St. Joe, Mo.
The Dream Factory of Northwest Missouri grants dreams to children diagnosed with critical or chronic illnesses who are three to eighteen years of age. Officials at The Dream Factory received a surprise visit by a team from Eagle Communications who delivered the news.
The ebullient Area Coordinator of the Dream Factory, Rita Hook, was ecstatic.
“We were shocked,” Hook said when she got the news. “I know we were one of three, but I thought ‘no way, we never win anything.'”
BaconFest St. Joe, MO will celebrate everyone’s love of bacon on September 27, 2014 at St Joseph Civic Arena.
Eagle Communications is planning a full line-up of activities, from a bacon eating contest, Bacon Queen and King Coronation, a full array of bacon samples and potentially even a signature bacon drink all designed to create a fun event for all in attendance.
The event will include a bacon contest for appetizers, entrées, desserts and drinks. Bacon food, bacon drinks, bacon memorabilia, bacon clothing, bacon music — bacon, bacon, bacon! BaconFest St. Joe, MO is an event about everything bacon!
Music from True North and Tequila Mockingbirds will be featured during the event.
“If there is a trendy food right now it is bacon,” said Jenny Cathcart, local sales manager for Eagle Communications. “We are excited about the opportunity to create BaconFest St. Joe, MO for the community and to have the ability to give back by making a donation to The Dream Factory of Northwest Missouri.”
