Rabies Clinics Begin Monday Night

city of st joseph seal logoAnnual citywide rabies vaccination clinics begin today in Saint Joseph. The clinic tonight is at Lindbergh Elementary School on Saint Joseph Avenue. Tomorrow night it’s at Hosea, with three more after that through next week. All clinics are from 6 to 8 pm. All dogs must be on a leash and under adult control. All cats must be in a pet carrier.

Here are the details:

All dogs and cats three months of age or older are required to be vaccinated against rabies and registered with the City. Animal registration tags are valid for one year from date of purchase or when the rabies vaccination expires, whichever comes first.

The City of St. Joseph will collect payment for rabies vaccinations, animal
registration tags and microchips. The veterinarian on duty will be paid separately for the combination vaccines he or she provides. The following fees apply to each animal served:
 Rabies vaccinations are $5.00
 Combination vaccinations are $10.00
 Registration tags are $5.00 for altered (spay/neuter) animals
 Registration tags are $15.00 for unaltered animals                                            Microchips are $10.00
Written proof of spay/neuter is required to obtain the $5.00 city animal
registration tag. Acceptable proof is a receipt from your veterinarian or a copy of last year’s city animal registration form.
