Kansas head football Charlie Weis announced Friday that junior offensive lineman Dylan Admire will forego his final two years of football eligibility to concentrate solely on his academics. Admire, an outstanding student, will be completing his bachelor’s degree in sport manageme-nt from KU in December and has intentions of immediately pursuing a career in strength and conditioning or nutrition at the collegiate level.
“I fully support Dylan’s decision,” said Weis. “He has been a model student-athlete and we wish him all the best.”
Admire, a native of Overland Park, Kansas, played in 16 games over the past two seasons, seeing time on both specials teams and the offensive line. He was a 2012 Academic All-Big 12 First Team honoree and has been on the Athletic Director’s honor roll all seven of his semesters at Kansas.
”I am very proud of my time with the Kansas football program,” said Admire. “I am thankful for the opportunity I have had to be a part of the team and of the friendships I have gained throughout my years at KU. Right now I am focused on finishing my degree and moving on to a career either in strength and conditioning or nutrition in collegiate athletics. I look forward to supporting my teammates in Memorial Stadium this fall. Once a Jayhawk, always a Jayhawk.”
