A 77-year-old man from Elmo, Missouri is in custody in Nodaway County after allegedly threatening the sheriff and a deputy last week.

Donald Eastland is charged with resisting arrest and assault of a law officer. Officials say he threatened to get a gun and kill both officers. Eastland is also accused of nearly running down the deputy with his vehicle.

Mr Eastland is being held in the Nodaway County Jail under $15,000 bond. His first court appearance has not yet been scheduled.
