A jury in southeastern Nebraska returns a mixed verdict against a Missouri man accused of attempted murder.

Joseph Senn, Jr., of Craig, Missouri, was charged with first degree attempted murder, using a firearm to commit a felony and making terroristic threats, plus a misdemeanor count of carrying a concealed weapon.

Three witnesses said that Mr Senn fired a handgun at the owner of a house near Dawson, Nebraska in October of last year. Senn was arrested with the wife of the alleged victim. During the arrest authorities found a concealed weapon.

After a trial this week in Richardson County court, a jury found Mr Senn not guilty of the most serious charges, but returned a guilty verdict on the misdemeanor weapon charge.

Senn is currently free on bond pending sentencing in August. He faces a fine and up to a year in jail.
