An employee at a St. Joseph appliance store was taken to the hospital after being seriously injured by contact with electricity.

According to Capt. Jeff Wilson authorities responded around 10:43 a.m. to Greg’s Appliance Mart located at 2017 S. Belt Highway on a call of a 43-year-old male employee possibly being electrocuted.

Wilson said the man was taken by ambulance to Mosaic Life Care for treatment.

The police said the incident was an accident and is not being investigated otherwise.
