Savannah High School is now in search of a new football coach as the Savannah School Board voted this week not to renew the contract of Chad Smith.

Smith has spent the last nine years with the Savages, the last four as the head coach.  He was the defensive coordinator prior to taking over for Mark Cole after the 2011 season.

Smith guided Savannah to a 27-15 record during his tenure.  The Savages went 5-6 this past season, the only losing season under Smith.

There are now three opening in the district as Athletic Director Bruce Humphrey submitted his resignation earlier this week and cross country coach Brad Weeks is taking a different job.
