Mary Louise Kieser
1923-2016

Kieser, Mary. obitphotoMary Louise Kieser, age 92, passed away on Wednesday, March 2, 2016, at her home.
She was born on March 10, 1923, in Cosby, Missouri, to Fred B. and Bessie May Kline. She attended grade school in Cosby. Mary played the piano. She graduated from Savannah High School in 1941. She was a student at Mrs. Platt Business School for one year and then worked as a secretary at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company, farm loan division.
She married Ralph F. Kieser on August 17, 1944 in Oskaloosa, Kansas, and shortly afterward moved to Columbia, South Carolina, where he was stationed. There she worked at American Home Insurance before returning to St. Joseph while he was stationed overseas.
Mary has two children. Gary Ralph was born February 9, 1947, and Linda Louise was born May 1, 1951. The family settled in Kansas City beginning in 1950. Mary and Ralph retired to Florida in 1974 before returning to St. Joseph, Missouri, in 2002. Mary was a hospital volunteer for 15 years, working at North Kansas City Hospital as well as hospitals in Winter Haven and Sun City Center, Florida. Mary is a member of Wyatt Park Baptist Church and Daughters of the American Revolution.
Survivors include son, Gary Kieser and wife Susan of Carmichael, California; daughter, Linda Talley of St. Joseph, Missouri; grandchildren, Andrew and Allison Kieser of Sacramento, California, and Justin Talley of Boulder, Colorado; brother, M. Richard Kline and wife Thelma of St. Joseph, Missouri; and four nephews.
Mary was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph in 2014; and by her parents; her son-in-law, Paul Talley; her brother, Frederick L. Kline; and her sister, C. Margaret Stewart.
Farewell Services 10:00 A.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
